Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015

With the whole "RG3 not knowing if he even had a concussion" story out this week, and now this...

Robert Griffin III won't play for Washington Redskins on Saturday night

I truly believe the organization has moved on from Griffin. This "independent" doctor found conclusive evidence to hold him out?

It just seems like the Redskins are trying to hold RG3 out with an "Injury" instead of clearly stating, "We want to see how cousins does with the first team offense because he's our starter this year."

Sadly, if this IS the case, I have more optimism for the season than before.

The virtual end of the RG III era. I think they have made the decision already to get rid of him. They can't risk him getting hurt or they are out a cool $16 million, which someone said is like a tenth of their cap for next season. Not sure about the cap issue, but $16 million can bring in much needed talent. They will hint around for trade offers, maybe someone will take a gamble with him, although at this point I doubt it.

I am in total agreement with you. I think they are also going to put out feelers for any type of trade they can get for him, even if it is only a 4th or 5th round pick. Maybe, just maybe someone will have that gambling itch. Someone that might think they can work him into there offensive scheme better, although I can't really think of anybody that would want him. He is damaged goods. All of this talk about the offensive linemen not liking him and dogging it against the Lions isn't a good selling point.

So no one thinks that this actually might have something to do with the hits he took v. Detroit? Honestly, when he came out of the game (and even beforehand), he looked a bit like a zombie.

Wow -- the conspiracy theorists with Oliver Stone-like tendencies to think that this is a grand plan to ease him out the door! I am not saying that it's impossible, but the more straightforward explanation -- that he really has some symptoms of being concussed -- seems the simpler and more reasonable one to me.

Holy s.., I wonder if that means that Djax and the rest of the starters are now willing to play? We'll probably learn Niles Paul was faking it.....

Perhaps Robert should try some of Russel Wilson's....Miracle Water?

I do believe he had symptoms. However he was also CLEARED earlier this week. If Tom Brady were cleared to play earlier in the week, would the Pats have an independent neurologist further inspect? I highly doubt it.

Although I am with you, it sounds very much like a conspiracy theory, what else can we expect from this team?

I believe, the coaches saw an opportunity to get Cousins on the field WITHOUT committing to the idea of benching RG3 to the public and they took it.

Moving on... I'm STOKED to see what Cousins can do with the 1's. If he comes out and lights it up....

I think it's hard to conclude that because the earlier clearance was announced that the retraction is bogus. For all we know, it was a close call earlier in the week and he woke up with a headache, causing the doctors to re-assess. I am also interested to see what Cousins can do. If he looks strong against the 1s, I wonder what the heck Gruden will do. If he struggles, then Gruden's decision to name RGIII the starter will likely be second-guessed a bit less.

What a mess -- AND IT'S STILL AUGUST! Honestly, this team kills me.
