I have no problem with someone not agreeing with the decision, after all that's what we're here for. But to hear some people take it to such extremes as to question the knowledge and integrity of our coaches is really ridiculous and a slap in the face to what these guys are all about. Saying you don't agree is one thing, but saying that Williams doesn't know what he's doing, he's hurting the team by not playing him, etc., etc., is laughable. These same kind of comments were directed towards Gibbs when he benched Ramsey, and look how that has turned out. That should have been enough to show us that hey, maybe these coaches know what they're doing after all. If we can't trust the coaches who can we trust? |

Re: Did anyone else watch Comcast postgame? (Lavar Related)
This not playing LaVar crap is getting out of control. Us loyal Washington Redskin fans deserve to know why he is not playing. We are paying all of their salaries, by buying and selling out everygame. We are the best fans in NFL and deserve to know why he isn't playing. I am sick of the speculation, the he said this and that crap. LaVar is a 3 time pro-bowler, he did not forget how to play football. He went through 5 different d-coordinators and still made probowl after probowl, after probowl. They keep saying he isn't disciplined enough for this D, Well dont the players love it because its more aggresive, more attack style? Isn't that what LaVar does best, attack the QB. You can not tell me, Clemons is a better pass rusher that LA, thats just not true. There is an underlying reason why he isn't playing, the salary, the knee, something. He deserves it as well as we do. this is rediculous. The man has been the face of the organization for 5 years, and now is nothing? If they are trying to trade him, going to drop him, not playing him to reduce the salary cap hit because of insentives in his contract, something has to give, and we all deserve to know what it is!!

To me this screams that no individual player is above the goals of the team. Simple as that. If this benching had to do with spite or ego, it would be a hollow move, meaning that there would be no solid rationale behind it other than to feed Gibbs' ego. The very sound of that is absolutely ridiculous to me. Gibbs and co. always have the team's best interests in mind. We may not know the entire story, but we can be sure there are solid reasons why LaVar is riding pine. If you think otherwise, fine, but that tells me you really don't understand what Gibbs is all about. |

Re: Did anyone else watch Comcast postgame? (Lavar Related)
No I didn't say GW has forgotten how to run a D. Has LaVar forgotten how to play football? that was the question. And the answer to that is NO!. Holdman may be a servicable LB but in no way is he the play LA is. Someone brought up and interesting stat about tackles and forced fumbles, sacks. Holdman has half as many as the others LBs and less than some of DBs. I havn't watched any gametape but if he isnt' getting the tackles on his side of the field, which most of the time is the weak side, with Carlos Rogers on that side, dont you think they are running more to that side. Like I said, I dont watch game tape but I would expect him to have more tackles and maybe a sack or two. Wasn't GW so excited when he got here about LaVar and how great he was going to be in this D. His "playmaking" ability and aggressiveness was going to be used more than it ever has. I do believe Williams was more excited about LaVar than anybody on the team. Greg has done a great job w/ this D and I am glad we are winning, and Holdman is filling in OK. But the weakside LB is suppose to be making more plays, more pressures more hits, and I havn't seen any of that out there. And this past game, they played zone w/ the back four and kept eveyone else at the line of scrimmage, shouldn't he have had more plays? or am I retarted?

LaVar hasn't forgotten how to play football, but the problem appears to be he hasn't learned how to play football in a Gregg Williams' defense.

You all keep buying their BS because apparently coaches never cover up the truth and everything is just the way they say it is. Why then is Williams using the same reasons why he loved LaVar last year as his reasons for keeping him out of the lineup this year? And those of you who think that performance is the real reason he's not on the field(particularly FRPLG) please explain to me how Holdman has outperformed Arrington, because all I know about Holdman is he does an awesome Invisible Man impression. |

Re: Did anyone else watch Comcast postgame? (Lavar Related)
He has never been in a game for them to make that judgement. I dont know why he isn't playing, and like I said I just think we all deserve an answer. Greg Williams and Joe both know more about football than all of us combined, I dont argue that, I just wish we would know the truth. Maybe I have heard it and I just dont like the answer. But, dont you admit that its hard to believe that Holman and Clemons can play better than LA, or atleast play better in Williams eyes. its just very disappointing, to see a guy who has given everything he has to this organization and is basically tossed aside. Especially someone so loved by us fans.

Re: Did anyone else watch Comcast postgame? (Lavar Related)
Let's check the definition of 'ego'
an inflated feeling of pride in your superiority to others Is this really what Gibbs and the coaches are all about? Is Gibbs and co. getting off on benching Arrington just for the sake of benching a superstar?? I don't think this is about anybody's ego at all. If anything this is all about discipline and the message that it sends the rest of the team, that it doesn't matter what your paycheck is or what your past history is, you have to earn your playing time right now and practice the way you play, and apparently LaVar isn't doing this. |

Re: Did anyone else watch Comcast postgame? (Lavar Related)
You got it!!! I have said this thousands of times. When GW got here he was so pumped up about having LaVar on the field with his defense. How he was going to be a probowler every year. how he was going to make LaVar the greatest LB in the NFL. people seem to forget all that. there are reasons he is not playing that I dont think we will find out. But not for one second do I believe this crap about not conforming to the defense. Like I have said, the man has played in 5 different defensive schemes and went to the probowl in 3 of them. that to me says he adapts very well. and listens to what is being preached.

He's played the same style under every coach, he basically does his own thing. LaVar is notorious for freelancing and not conforming to the defensive scheme. Look at how much he fought Marvin Lewis, he was like a wild dog that Lewis was trying to put a leash on. Eventually he broke him in but not without a pretty big struggle. As others have said, Pro Bowls don't really mean a whole lot. It's a big popularity contest. |
