From randy getlin:

I'm told the NFL's salary cap is expected to jump to at least $155M this year. Nearly $12M more than last year's ($143.28M).

I'm not too bitter. I'm just too old for this franchise to take another wrong turn.
I appreciate the direness of your situation, however there's no way to be conclusive that Dan Snyder is who we think he is. At least we can take solace in the fact Kirk Cousins appears to be the opposite of fat, lazy, entitled, etc. so that money should be well spent.

Pretty sure there was an article in the Washington Times a few years back about Haynesworth blocking his day off in 15 min increments.

Scooby Wright is a stud and for some reason appears to only be considered mid-round prospect by the draft media. There are some mid round ILB that could help this defense.

Maybe money well spent for one more season:

I don't know if this is good or bad.

I can only assume it looked like this: 9 am donut shop run, 9:15 nap time, 9:30 show up to practice 1 1/2 hours late, 9:45 fail conditioning test, 10 am 2nd nap...

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)

Per nfltraderumors.com:

John Keim of ESPN considers the Redskins’ need for defensive line help as “high.” Keim mentions that they need to get younger up front on defensive.

In regards to impending free agent DT Terrance Knighton, Keim believes the only way he returns is if they can’t find another nose tackle and he agrees to drop some weight.

Keim lists Muhammad Wilkerson, Malik Jackson Damon Harrison, Jaye Howard, and Ian Williams as potential free agents targets who would make sense for Washington if they’re available.

As for the draft, Keim suggests Alabama’s A’Shawn Robinson, Alabama’s Jarran Reed and Louisiana Tech’s Vernon Butler as a few names to watch.

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)

Who cares where Griffin goes? I could care less if he goes to a division rival. Do people remember his final play here? Drops back, has two guys wide open right in front of him, instead of throwing the ball he tucks it down, gets sacked and fumbles. He sucks, end of discussion. McNabb was a way better QB than Griffin and he played for a division rival.

As far as the contract w/ Cousins, the Redskins will probably end up tagging him and if they can't reach a deal then so be it. He'll play for 19 million and that gives the powers that be another year to evaluate him. He's a trending up player but I wouldn't mind seeing if he can duplicate last year or get better.

In terms of questions, the Dline is facing a ton. Def makes for the most interesting conversation this offseason not named Cousins.

So Keim is now reporting what Tarik alBashir did a couple weeks ago...Expect a high first round pick at Dline and a younger Dline Free agent pick up.

Im bout that...I want this guy: Losing Damon Harrison would be punch in New York Jets' nose - New York Jets Blog- ESPN

Losing a nickname like Pot Roast is tough, but replacing him with "Snacks" is a win. Snacks at NT and A'Shawn Robinson at DE?

Good ideas for the Redskins. There should be enough cap space to sign 5 mid-level free agents (@ $5 million per year)

Report: Cousins breaks off contract talks with Redskins | CSN Mid-Atlantic

I'm guessing it is the Franchise tag for Cousins for the foreseeable future?
