Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
well losing our LG immediately and then our C didn't help. we probably do need a new C sooner or later... also the TEs we had most of the year didn't run block well on most downs (including our converted OT).

NO.....it did not!
Never regret having a stout line that can withstand an injury or two. Makes all aspects of the O better....

C.J. Prosise | Running Back
Right now he's considered a mid round prospect. Former WR turned RB Could be a receiving RB with versatility |

I know we need D-line the most, but I still want to get a quality center - someone who can control the middle and like Hog said...make all the RB's better. I'm just not sold that Long is the answer at C...he didn't exactly explode off the line as LG last year. Moving him to C means he will have more going on,so it makes me really wonder. |

Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
If we can get Prosise or Kenneth Dixon (La Tech) in the 3rd or 4th Round, we'll be in good shape at RB. Both have good size, good speed, good vision, make people miss, finish runs, and have outstanding receiving skills. They look like pros to me. Prosise is also a Special Teams maven.

RB C.J. Prosise The first of the mid-round prospects for the Irish, Prosise had a very interesting career at Notre Dame. He started out as a safety before transitioning to wide receiver. Then this past offseason, Prosise made one more switch to running back. This would be the most successful move as Prosise put together one of the best seasons from a running back in the Brian Kelly era at Notre Dame. He averaged 6.6 yards per carry, 2.8 yards after contact, and totaled 43 broken tackles. Prosise’s calling card is his speed and he gained 49.7 percent of his yards on runs of 15 or more yards. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...6-draft-class/ |

I'm waiting for Amerson's mom, Tawanna, to weigh in. I believe she has watched more football than PFF Senior Analyst Renner and probably doesn't have the Notre Dame alum bias: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-renner-05b4317a

Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
One NFL scout compared Notre RB C.J. Prosise to former Eagles RB Duce Staley.
"He's just going to keep getting better," the scout began before making the comparison. Another scout called Prosise "his guy." We are definitely here for the Prosise praise. The former receiver can definitely be successful in space, but showed prowess between the tackles this year. Josh Norris ranks Prosise as his No. 4 RB and the No. 60 overall prospect. Source: NJ.com this guy's stock is rising...wonder where McC has him on his board

I like complementary backs so you can change the pace a bit. The absolute must-have attribute of a complimentary back to Jones is the ability to hit the homerun. He needs to be fast and shifty. If he's also big, then all the better. But we've got our tough mudder with Jones, no need to double down on that.

Kelvin Taylor Earns High Praise From NFL Draft Experts -
This is a guy I liked early on as an option for the Skins...looks like he is starting to get some praise. I like Taylor, Prosise, Marshall, and Drake as options for us in the mid rounds

Re: Drafting a running back in the X round.
What was one of our biggest problems last year? The running game. If there's good high ranking caliber RB when it's our turn to pick, it would not suprise me if McC makes that the 1st pick.
