Since things have slowed downed for the off season for us, I thought it would be funny to reflect on some bad plays(its all good since we made the playoffs)...when they happened every Skins' fan was upset.
One that comes to mind was when Ryan Clark was stiffed armed into the dirt by LT and we lost the game on that run. I was listening to the game play by play on the internet and all of a sudden my fiance tells me the game is over...I almost drove off the road.lol.lol.

Re: 2005 Bone Head Plays
Antonio Brown's fumble on the kickoff to start the second half in the first Seahawks game. Week 3 I think. Lead directly to a TD and Brown getting kicked off the team.

Re: 2005 Bone Head Plays
I'm thinking the holding penalty on Rabach in the Charger game that cost us 10 yards and most likely the game vs. the Chargers.
Also, the holding penalty on Novak's field goal that put us out of field goal range vs. the Broncos. Both of these changed the outcome of a game and took away at least 1 homefield game and NFC East divisional champs. |

Re: 2005 Bone Head Plays
John Hall's missed field goal in the playoffs v. Seahawks. That would have made our last drive a tying drive...

Re: 2005 Bone Head Plays
How about the shanked punt late in the Bucs playoff game by Frost that set them up with prime field position?

How about the offsides penalty on the PAT against the Bucs?

Re: 2005 Bone Head Plays
i'll give the bone head play there to the refs on the following Alstott run. Or even to the ref's on that play, where NFL network pointed out the center illegally drew Walt Harris(?) offsides.

Re: 2005 Bone Head Plays
I don't think we want this thread to turn into another REF Bashing thread. I am sure Texanskin, meant it to be a thread of "Bonehead" plays by Skins players, not bad calls by Refs. I think it is agreed that there were many bad Ref call this year.
Here is another Bonehead I thought of..... Brunell's fumble out of the endzone in the Rams game. It was a game we really needed at the begining of our 5 game streak and that play almost changed the momentum for good. Fortunately, the Rams were really bad that day with a 3rd string QB and there was no way we were going to lose that game. I will say it was very smart of Brunell to push the ball out of the endzone, but the fumble was a "Bonehead" that deep in your own end of the field. |
