Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
True but it is too Eagles advantage their young Bunkley will be a future star and nightmare. Imagine D.Ware times 5. I think he should be DNA tested for Hulk-Itis.
Seems like the love child of the Incredible and the Hulkster.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
The Eagles continue to do their thing and Stallworth is an excellent addition to their football team. This was a good move by their front office and bad news for others in the NFC East.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
We're worried about a guy who's usually hurt more often than he's healthy and who's season best is 945 yards??
I don't think this move changes much in the division. He's a decent #2/#3 guy, but he's not a playmaker that will keep defensive coordinators up at night. |

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Ugh. Another reason the Eagles go 3-1 or 4-0 during the first four game stretch. They play shitty teams with the exception being the Giants. Then we get to hear the slurping.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
70 catches and nearly 1000 yds is hardly Taylor Jacobs my friend. If this kid is healthy, he could def. give us some problems. Keep in mind too, he had Aaron Brooks pitching him the ball not D. McNabb.

What Stallworth gives the Eagles is a serious deep threat. No he's not a stud. But he will stretch defenses. If you don't have CBs who can run with him and Reggie Brown (and right now I think we only have one, Carlos Rogers) then you'll have to give safety help over the top. That presents a challenge when you have to watch the middle of the field for LJ Smith who has speed, and you have to get on top of speedy Brian Westbrook in a hurry or else he'll bust one on you. Stallworth's presence opens up the field for the Eagles just as Lloyd and Randle-El do for the 'Skins. It's not like they just signed Jerry Rice at his peak, but it's an improvement.

They'll be leading the division on December 1. Then they have to play AT NYG, AT Dallas, and AT Washington. That's when they'll fall on hard times and we'll need another Gibbsian push in December to overtake them.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Definitely our biggest competition, but when they blow out the likes of the Texans, the media will be all up on their bandwagon.

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Yeah they should be expected to whip up on the Texans anyway. Hopefully the media doesn't get all wrapped up in that game.

Sometimes a decent #2 is just the trick for an offense. Not to mention the fact that Stallworth will for the first time in his career have a much more consistent quarterback throwing him the ball. No, he's not in the mold of a T.O. or Steve Smith, but could he be like a Reggie Wayne? |

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
Here's the thing, the Eagles went to the NFC Championship game with this coaching staff, this QB, basically this offensive line, this running back, but with Thrash and Pinkston at WR.
This year, they have that same coaching staff, that same QB, basically that same offensive line, that same explosive running back, but with Stallworth and Reggie Brown at WR. You tell me which is tougher. Nobody should let the Eagles sneak up on them this season.

Now, the defense was really what enabled the Eagles in their NFC Championship years -- I think there's been a steady, moderate decline in the overall capability of their D, but it's still a force to be reckoned with. |

Stallworth isn't quite the deep threat he was when he came into the league due to his injury problems. While he could have an impact for them, I'm just not all that concerned. |

Re: Eagles trade for Stallworth
stallworth is much better than anything they've got, and his 945 yards came on the other end of Aaron Brooks. McNabb is ever-so-slightly better.
