Re: Redskins Resign Omar Stoudemire!? (Rumor)

anywho, now that I finished fantasizing about RFK V 2.0, Stoutemire's #s last year were 13 games played, 44 tackles, 2 INTs, 5 passes defensed. He only has 7 career picks, and has never had more than 72 tackles in a season. Like I said, he knows the system but, but I really hope this is intended as nothing more than a depth move. Especially since he'll be 33 when the year starts. We need Prioleau to be healthy.

They were talking about superbolw and even final 4 possibilites with the stadium (said there would be a retractable roof)
Thanks. Sounds nice and all, sure do miss the vibe of the old RFK!
However, no seating capacity in comparision to FedEx. Danny Boy needs that 92k FedEx sold out every week, so he can sit around and count all those C notes.

I'm really glad we're starting to realize how bad we screwed up last year...this team could be alright by the time the season rolls around

I like the signing. Seems like we're really focused on having better depth in the secondary more than anything.

Stoutmire didn't do bad for us in 05....at least not as bad as AA was in 06.

This is true

The Redskins made another move in the defensive backfield on Tuesday, reaching agreement on a one-year deal with safety Omar Stoutmire. Stoutmire, who played for Washington in 2005, has also played for the Cowboys, Jets, Giants, and Saints in his 10-year NFL career.

It would be a good signing, Omar knows the system well and would be a viable backup behind Prioleau at SS.

I don't care what some of the so called football guys have said.We are making some damn good moves this year.We fix our LBs and now we have a lot of depth in our secondary.I think our front office is starting to wake up.I am looking forward to the draft that is for sure.

Are we talking about Stoutmire?

At first glance, I thought we signed Amare Stoudemire.

Re: Redskins Resign Omar Stoudemire!? (Rumor)

I like this signing so long as the f. office provides some new competition for his roster spot, which there likely will be in a late rnd. pick or undrafted free agent. Reed Doughty will be back to fight for a roster spot, but he's a long shot.

I think GW is going w/familiarity & comfort level rather than sheer talent in this offseason. We've now signed 3 guys - Fletcher, Smoot & Stoutmire - who have played for GW before.
