I guarantee that if the Patriots were down to their 3rd option at LG, they would be hurting too. |

Its not unrealistic when you are asking a career tackle in Wade to totally change positions and he struggles very very early on. What he's saying is that if the front office would have used a 4-5 rounder on a decent o-lineman sometime over the past 4 years, then we would be in a better position. Wade struggled from the get go, and to say "he could make the switch" just because he was a big guy who played tackle, that was unrealistic. Saying we ever had 3 legit LGs, that seems way, way off. |

I can see the point on Wade, but it's not like he was the only option.

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)
Besides, what guarantee do you have that said 4th or 5th rounder would fare any better than Todd Wade?

What did Whitticker ever show besides practice? Taylor Jacobs tore it up in practice too. Whitticker must not have been that awesome if he couldn't stick with the Packers, I mean he may have shown something in practice but to say he was a legitimate LG in this league is a stretch. |

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)
I mean, looking back Gibbs and Company had plans to replace Dockery with Whitticker, who I'll give you by reports tore it up in practice but couldn't stick with the lowly Packers, and Wade, a guy who was changing positions. So to say all was well at LG until Whitticker went down isn't exactly accurate.

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)
Wade is huge and athletic, if Bugel said he could turn him into a guard then I'll have to go with Bugel. Whitticker doesn't get hurt and we get to see what he could do in games, but right now all we have to go by is practice reports.
I love these 13 pages by the way, great toilet reading! |

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)
Anyone know what becomes of Whittiker?
I know he's cut and has a high ankle sprain...I think those are 6 week injuries. Any chance of the skins picking him back up week 3 or so? Or are we set at guard? What are your thoughts?

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)
I was surprised they cut Whitticker, could they have put him on the IR or do you think they were hoping to pick him up later?

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)
I don't think we can judge this move until we see Kendall on the field. If he comes out and contributes, I bet most of us here will forget about what we gave up for him.

Re: KENDALL to the Redskins (confirmed)
Oh I agree, he did start for the Pack along with another rookie Guard, and Brett Farve was running for his life. I shouldn't say that really, I just remember their line being bad, but I can't remember how many sacks, etc.

Take a look at the skins drafts in the last 4 years... 2007 1. LaRon Landry SAF Louisiana State 5. Dallas Sartz LB USC 6. H.B. Blades LB Pittsburgh 6. Jordan Palmer QB Texas-El Paso 7. Tyler Ecker TE Michigan 2006 2. Roger McIntosh, OLB, Miami - 35th overall 5. Anthony Montgomery, DT, Minnesota - 153rd overall 6. Reed Doughty, S, North Colorado - 173rd overall 6. Kedric Golston, DT, Georgia - 196th overall 7. Kili Lefotu, OG, Arizona - 230th overall 7. Kevin Simon, ILB, Tennessee - 250th overall 2005 1. Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn (9th overall) 1. Jason Campbell, QB, Auburn (25th overall) 4. Manuel White, FB, UCLA (120th overall) 5. Robert McCune, ILB, Louisville (154th overall) 6. Jared Newberry, OLB, Stanford (183rd overall) 7. Nehemiah Broughton, FB, The Citadel (222nd overall) 2004 1. Sean Taylor, S, Miami - 5th overall 3. Chris Cooley, TE, UtahState - 81st overall 5. Mark Wilson, OT, California - 151st overall 6. Jim Molinaro, OT, Notre Dame - 180th overall They have taken a chance on some late round Offensive linemen they just didn't pan out. As you can all see the odds of a late round pick making a major impact or even making the team is the exception not the norm. Please stop complaining about a 4th/5th round pick. Pete Kendall is a good Guard who will help this team for the next few years. Manual White will never help this team.
