Nonsense. If we run, run, run, we score maybe 17 and lose 21-17. If we pass, pass, pass, pass, and run we gain 400 yds on ground and air and win by 2 TD's.

Bucs will get at least one long TD pass. Limit their offensive touches and it will be only one. Pound the ball and there will be no turnovers (unless Betts gets more than 5 carries). Throw it around and the opportunistic Bucs will grab one.
What's it take to convince you guys that Redskins' football has doomed us for the last four years. Conversely, what's it take you to realize that we score big time when Campbell is set free.

Our defense will make a late game stand in your dreams. We can't play D and will lose unless we come out throwing. Try a little reality with your "Redskins football."

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions

Indy scored the most points against them this year winning 33-14. Manning had 253 yards passing, Kenneth Kieth 121 yards rushing, Anthony Gonzalez 71 yards receiving. I am going to predict a similar outing by the Skins.

Skins- 30
Bucs-20

Jason Campbell- 235 yards passing
Clinton Portis- 155 yards rushing
Cooley- 70 Yards receiving
Moss- 100+ yards receiving

Skins O plays mistake free football (save a false start or two that JC bails them out of), they will run at will and mix in the pass, and rarely put themselves in 3rd and long situations, and even when they do JC does his thing. JC spreads the ball out well, we keep them guessing, and controll the game from the get go.

Skins D plays well holding them on most drives and when they get into the redzone they hold them to field goals, but they give up two big plays for TD's, giving them hope late in the fourth being down only by 3, but Campbell methodically marches down the field and gets the late drive win finally, taking too much time off the clock for a legitimate chance for the bucs to come back, they put one up deep and Landry gets a pick to end the game.

I just read last night Sellers is doubtful for the game, which is a huge negative for our rushing attack. I'm way less confident about this Sunday now. Maybe, as others have suggested in the past, we should have Betts and Portis in at the same time and create some misdirection for the defense. Betts could also lead block for Portis in certain situations too.

I find it so funny that everyone thinks we are just going to go on down to TB and win this game. TB's defense has really been playing much better than last year. Until our defense plays better I don't see us winning this game.

The difference is Indy has Peyton Manning and we don't.

I hadn't heard that about Sellers. Shit. I knew his back was bothering him a few days ago. If he's out it will also hurt the passing game in certain situations because Cooley will have to stay in and block more.

Tampa has the 3rd best pass D in the NFL, and this game is huge for them. Plus it's in their house. We're coming off a loss, we've only won 3 of our last 8 games... I'm sorry if I don't share the same optimism this week as most of the other people around here. This is going to be a tough, tough game. I say Redskins in a tight one, 20-17.

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions

I think we willl defeat the bucs on the road. This could very well be our season riding on this game. We have lost the last two in close matches, WE HAVE to find a way to get a win on the road. Loss another close one and confidence is gone IMO, probually right along with any chance of making a playoff run.

With that said I think we come out and play lights out for the FULL 60 minutes. With a heavy dose of CP and a nice balance with JC throwing, I see CC & SM both having a nice day. Along with the defense being refocused and playing like they were earlier in the season.

We have to get the job done, and I think we step up to the challenge.

SKINS=24
bucs= 13

From CBSSPORTSLINE:

Washington fullback Mike Sellers missed practice Thursday with a back injury and is questionable. That's significant because the Redskins have no reserve fullbacks or H-backs on their roster. Wide receiver James Thrash (high-ankle sprain) is also hurt, as is safety Sean Taylor (sprained knee). Neither is expected to play. Defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin missed Thursday's practice with an ankle injury.

The Redskins will keep feeding Clinton Portis in hopes of wearing down the opposition. (AP)
Tampa Bay running back Michael Pittman aggravated a sprained ankle in practice this week and could miss Sunday's game. Fullback B.J. Askew (ankle) did not practice Thursday and his status is questionable. If Pittman is unable to play, look for the club to activate Michael Bennett.

The story: Funny thing about these Bucs -- they were supposed to have as much life as midnight in St. Pete, yet they look like they'll wind up winning the NFC South. One reason is Jeff Garcia, their quarterback. He's playing error-free football and doing just enough to keep the Bucs out of trouble. Another is wide receiver Joey Galloway, who seems to get faster as he gets older. But the biggest reason is the defense, which is keeping opponents close and quarterbacks frazzled. Only once in five home dates have the Bucs allowed more than 14 points, and that was to Jacksonville.

Tampa Bay will make it hard on the Redskins, but I liked what I saw from Washington in its loss to Dallas a week ago. This club isn't designed to blow out opponents; it's built to wear them down, and that could happen if Clinton Portis continues to make the tough yards. Jason Campbell isn't a terrific passer, but he's good enough to beat you -- and he can confound the Bucs if Washington's running game is going. Remember, when Portis rushes for 100 or more yards his teams are 26-9.

The Redskins have lost three of their past four and must make something happen in a hurry if they're serious about making it to the playoffs. When Joe Gibbs says "you measure yourself against the real good teams," Washington doesn't look all that bad. I'm serious. It came close to Dallas and should've beaten Green Bay.

That means the Redskins, in all likelihood, are battling Detroit, Arizona and Philadelphia for wild-card spots. It also means that the battle starts with a Tampa Bay team that has exceeded all expectations -- particularly because it's doing this without star running back Carnell Williams. There is nothing extraordinary about the Bucs other than they find ways to win. Garcia has been efficient; Galloway has been extraordinary and Earnest Graham has been a surprise. The Redskins are vulnerable to the pass, especially with Taylor missing, so expect Garcia to try to exploit them with Galloway and Ike Hilliard.

One other thing: The Bucs have won their past six regular-season games vs. Washington here, but the Redskins won the one that mattered most -- a 17-10 victory in the 2005 playoffs. Expect this one to be close, with Washington pressing to straighten itself out.

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions

I thought we were going to get smoked in Dallas. I was wrong. This team can look great on offense one week and mediocre the next. The same can be said for the defense. I don't know which Redskins team shows up, but I'm going to go with Redskins by a FG.

Re: Redskins vs. Bucs predictions

Here's my prediction: For the first time this season at least the offense has started to look consistent. Provided we don't see something TOTALLY insane on the offensive side of the ball this week, I predict a Skins win 21-17.

If we go back to being conservative (which I really don't see) we lose 17-10. I think Galloway gets one TD and we give up one long drive for another TD to some BS TE like Smith.
