Haslet and Torrence sideline altercation.

Anyone have a clue what was happening here? Seemed near fight between Haslet and Torrence on sideline during the game today.

I'd really like to know. I know he was run into their sideling during the punt but don't know what happened

Well the Rams faced a better foe on Sun. They had only one way to win and that was to take the Skins out of their game. How does a team do that....by punching it in the mouth. They did everything possible to piss us off on the field to screw up our thinking. Take one look at their player [b]Incognito[b] all he did was create enough havouc to take the linemen out of their game. Then when the Refs were starting to watch him he backs off and lets us get the penalty.

I'm sure something happened when Torrence was pushed out. Hell the caoch probably said something to Torrence causing him to react. When you are playing a superior foe you talent wise your only hope is to get physical and try to get the team off their game.

The Rams did that.

Haslett probably said to Leigh "we're going deep on you and you're toast. You have no skills".

Torrence got fired up.

Haslett was right.

I couldnt believe that idiot was on the Rams sideline doing that. From what I saw if he'd have been as concerned with carrying out his assignments correctly as he was with running his mouth maybe he could have made a positive difference in the game.

Good points. The Rams were like a wounded animal, willing to do and say anything to win and it worked. Lesson learned for the Skins, I hope.

The fiery Haslett got into his own confrontation during the game.

Haslett and Redskins cornerback Leigh Torrence exchanged words after the two collided on the sidelines on a punt return.

"We jammed him out of bounds, and he decided he was going to run the sideline," Haslett said. "Well, he is supposed to run the white. He can't run all the way behind the bench. He was coming at me, so I figured it was me or him."

As he was talking, Haslett demonstrated how he used his forearm to fend off Torrence.

"If he is going to run me over, I was going to get him," Haslett said. "I got a good shot on him. I didn't want to get run over. You see those coaches get toppled. Yeah, that wasn't going to be me."

Asked if he was concerned about getting into a physical altercation with the 5-foot-11, 182-pound Torrence, Haslett, who played linebacker for nine seasons in the NFL, said, "I'm bigger than he is. He's not that big, so I would have been all right."
