I bet they go after Shanahan or they promote Raheem Morris.

I never thought Gruden was all that impressive as a coach. The only thing he did was lead a team built by Dungy to the superbowl, since then he hasn't done much of anything.

That's too bad for Bruce (George's son), but I've never been impressed with Chucky.

LOL. That is a shocker though. They should have beat the Raiders in Week 17. I figured they must have had a big name lined up to take over as coach/GM, Pete Carroll for example. But I guess not. I guess it was time for a change though. Bruce Allen was never all that impressive, and everyone around here always talks about how hated Gruden is.

I'll bet other teams that were looking for coaches sort of wished they had the opportunity to interview Gruden though.

I just read that the Cowgirls fired their DC Brian Stewart after 2 seasons. I mention it here because I doubt it's threadworthy.

Since that SB run TB hasn't even won a playoff game.

Wow, now this is a surprise. Wasn't Bruce Allen the GM everyone wanted not too long ago?

Yeah, but remember in that SuperBowl they beat a Raider team that Gruden started building when he was hired in his early 30's, at the time the youngest HC in NFL history. So Gruden beat a team he built with a team someone else built.

Woahsers!! Didn't see that coming. I think TB's lack of success is more to do with Allen tahn Gruden but then again I am not too sure who had the juice there personell wise.

Sounds like Dallas is about to explode their staff. There are reports that their OC Garrett is getting the Rams job,(SportingNews.com - Your expert source for NFL Football stats, scores, standings, blogs and fantasy news from NFL Football columnists and I saw talk that Phillips may take their D over and give up the head coach job. (please note this part is all just speculation and I have no sources worth quoting)

It sounds like your agreeing with me.

I agree that he won a SuperBowl with a team Dungy built. But to say he hasn't done much else is inaccurate. He built a helluva team in Oakland before he left.

Bill Callahan has proven he's a piss poor head coach more than once- the way he effed up Oakland shortly after their SuperBowl appearance and the train wreck in Nebraska. While Gruden may have hoisted a Lombardi Trophy with a team another man built, he still had fingerprints all over the AFC Champion that year.

Actually, to do what he did in Oakland at such a young age despite Al Davis is pretty impressive IMO.
