Ugh, Mel Kiper sounds like Mike Florio insisting that the Redskins will take Mark Sanchez.

Re: Michael Oher remains the leader for the Redskins
I've heard M. Oher on Sirius several times now. He really comes across well. I am definitely hoping that we get him at 13

I wouldn't mind him, but I heard he's really dumb which can be a problem learning an NFL playbook where to block etc

Re: Michael Oher remains the leader for the Redskins
But when you listen to him speak and answer questions(on the radio), he comes off no worse than any other draft candidate, and I would say he comes off impressive - but that is i am sure a bias cuz i'ld like to see him on our team. In fact I heard our DB Tryon on the Redskins show on comcast and he sounded far worse then any interview i've heard Oher give.

Let him play RT for awhile and slowly learn. Then when Samuels retires Oher can slide over to the left. Maybe get him a playbook tutor as well.

Re: Michael Oher remains the leader for the Redskins
Word...Oher or Rey would make the draft for me. On the other hand if we find a way to trade down and get one of these guys or Britton later in the 1st and a 2nd rounder on the way I'd be ecstatic. Time for Vinny to earn his keep.

He isn't a genius by any means and has a lifetime of catching up to do, but he isn't "dumb." Oher has trouble with focusing his intensity and isn't very instinctual yet, but many believe he is still growing as a player and since he works really hard his ceiling could be pretty high. |

Re: Michael Oher remains the leader for the Redskins
Oher at #13. Perfect. It needs to happen. You can't overstate how important the O Line is, and a potential LT is a high 1st rounder.
But how about this, if Duke Robinson is sitting there in the middle of the second round, I think he is worth trading up for. Somewhere around #50, before Philly and Dallas, I'd HATE it if he wound up playing for either! Robinson is 1st round talent, a bad mf, and having him and Oher on the right side would instantly make our running game somewhat nasty. We need to get that young, serious OL talent in there while Joe Bugel is still here to teach them. Heck, trade up for Alex Mack, too, for all I care. |

Oher didn't allow a sack all season at LT in the SEC. That is really all I need to know about him. Sign him up.

Re: Michael Oher remains the leader for the Redskins
Good news, but this doesn't change the FO's opinions.. I just really hope that Redskins will draft Oher (my #1 choice) or other T such as A. Smith or whoever else..
As for trading up for Duke Robinson- I would not mind that at all, but if we trade up to 2nd round, I would prefer us to draft Mack (if he somehow dropped down) or Unger.. Duke is definitely good player, no questions; it still doesn't stop the fact that we signed Dockery and we have Rhinehart and David Clark (who Vinny appears is in love with) waiting in the wing.. Therefore, Duke probably would be a "waste" pick when we already have other pressing needs.. |
