In 2006, Vick became the only quarterback in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards during the regular season.
In 2006, Vick set the NFL record for most yards per carry in a season, at 8.4.
When Vick and RB Jerious Norwood both ran for over 100 yards in Week 4 of the 2006 season, the Falcons became the only NFL team to ever record two games in a franchise's history where both the quarterback and a running back on the same team surpassed the 100-yard mark in the same game. (Vick and Warrick Dunn both eclipsed 100 yards in Week 2 of the same season.)
Vick (1,039 yards) and Dunn (1,140) became the first QB/RB tandem in NFL history to each go over the 1,000-yard rushing mark in the same season. They also became the fourth set of teammates in league history to each have 1,000 or more yards. The last set of teammates to accomplish the feat were Cleveland RBs Kevin Mack (1,104 yards) and Earnest Byner (1,002) in 1985. Brandon Jacobs (1,089) and Derrick Ward (1,025) of the 2008 New York Giants have since accomplished this feat as well.
Earned his second consecutive and third overall Pro Bowl nod in 2005 as he passed for 2,412 yards and 16 touchdowns in addition to leading all NFL quarterbacks with 597 rushing yards and six scores.
Named to the second Pro Bowl of his career after leading the Falcons to their third division title in team history and breaking numerous NFL and team records in 2004.
Set an NFL postseason record for a quarterback with 119 rushing yards in the 2004 NFC Divisional Playoff win against the Rams.

Overrated???? Are you kidding me? How can you say this guy sucks this guy has brought more to the Falcons franchise then Jason has brought here. But I agree Jason does have all the potential in the world but he has yet to prove he is the "franchise" QB. When Vick was in Atlanta everyone knew he was the QB and there was no question about that. They are so lucky Matt Ryan became what he was. Michael definetely will be picked up and he for sure will make an immeidate impact for any team that does decide to pick him up
I beg to differ. There actually were constant questions about whether Vick should even play QB, much less start. There were constant questions regarding, "When is Vick going to learn how to pass?" These questions intensified after they went through some trouble to bring in Peerless Price, who became somewhat invisible in the Vick-led offense. The only guy who Vick ever seemed to find with a pass was Algae Crumpler, who incidentally may have the greatest name in NFL history.

And as I've said before, once teams finally figured out that Vick couldn't pass the proverbial jig was up. Vick's success early on hinged on the fact that 1. he was protected with a running game and 2. teams actually believed they had to defend against the pass and the run. Once teams realized he was a subpar passer they started stacking the box and playing corners in a cover 2 zone and it was then we saw that Vick was nothing more then a running back that could throw the ball a little better then your average 3rd string QB.

Really? Reeves said that? Interesting considering Vick got him the first playoff win at Lambeau in the history of the playoffs.

It's just going to be some TV spots probably; no big deal. Part of him showing the whole remorse and growing up thing and a way for PETA to get their collective virtual penis bigger.

Someone hit the nail on the head. Vick is suppose to be a QB not a freaking RB. I don't give a rats ass if he he can run, it doesn't matter all that much for a QB in the NFL. You just need to be mobile and avoid sacks. See Tom Brady.

Also if you wanna talk stats look at Vick's career completion percentage and tell me if it even near what a "decent" starter should have.

Re: Michael Vick in Talks to Become PETA Spokesman

If you look at his career stats, I don't think they reflect the ability he showed in his last year in the league. If you remember watching his games - his passing improved a whole lot, and people were talking about how mike was coming into his own. I think a whole lot of teams would be thrilled to have MV come and play for them, especially the Vikings (MV is like tarvaris, except he can run and throw better...).

I really have started to feel bad for him though. His crime, although it was bad, wasn't anything like killing people; he FINANCED the dog fighting. People need to stop calling him the antichrist and just accept that he did his time and he's ready to earn his way back into society. It really bothers me every time I see another ridiculous PETA request to put MV through more tedious classes/tests/public speaking. Enough is enough, just let the man play.

So how exactly is he like Tavaris?

I hope he gets another shot somewhere. I think the guy took more heat than he deserved. It would be interesting to see him come back as a WR or RB, because I honestly think coming back to play QB is going to be a steep uphill climb. He would probably need to ride the pine for a while.

I agree I hope he gets another shot. I just don't see why its such a stretch for him to play QB. And yes his last season he was coming into his own and becoming a better pocket passer. Yes everyone he can throw the football. He would just look weird as a wideout I doubt he has even played that position since pee wees and running back? He's not big at all. QB is his spot and knowing Michael will push to play that position. The Viking would be the perfect spot for him. Tavaris Jackson sucks dick and Sage Rosenfels isn't much better. That be a perfect spot behind that O-line and Adrien Peterson at his side it be so nasty

Vick is 6'0 215. That's already big enough to play RB. You don't think he could put on 5-10 more pounds if he needed to?

Re: Michael Vick in Talks to Become PETA Spokesman

This is funny. However I called it back when he got into trouble that he would need to do some sort of commercials for PETA in order to win some people over and get back into the league. Perhaps even donate money but he has none. lol. Maybe he can strike a deal where part of his earnings go to PETA for like the next 3 yrs or something. I also figured the courts would put something in place that he had to be a spokesman for them, but last I heard PETA said they didn't want him as a spokesman. lol.

Oh well, good for him. Maybe he can finally put some of this behind him and get back into the league somewhere as a back up due to age.

Wow, one extreme to another. PETA are some crazy mofo's and commit more controversy than dog fighting in its entirety. The only upside would be his constant involvement with the public would help to improve his image. As far as this debate about position is concerned, I am a huge Hokies fan and would love to see him as a QB somewhere. Even if he has to be a backup at first. He is an animal and has an intense work ethic and I think he could excel and be an asset to almost any team.

Vick scares me to death these days because he seems exactly like the type of guy Vinny would go after. "he was the best player available!!!" Thanks Vinny.

What is the difference then an X gang member working with kids to keep them out of trouble then MV doing stuff with PETA. It is very common for people to do stuff like this after getting out of jail.
