Much more likely that Mason and/or Rock gets cut. Alridge vs. Dorsey will be really interesting. I doubt they both make it. In my opinion, AA is the far superior one but DD is the more dependable.

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
The way Griff tweaks his back every so often and Haynesworth isn't the most durable guy in the world, I'm betting both Monty and Ceddy make the team. If anything, Wynn is on the bubble. Not that he was that secure to begin with.

Rock is a good kr. But there's better out there I'm shocked he's still on the roster.

If we had another option at FB that was anywhere close to Caveman, I'd agree with you. But the fact is, without him we've got a 7th round rookie converted TE/HB, and nothing else. I don't see how we can part with Big Mike just yet.

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
$1.975 to keep him, about $2.8 to cut him. Mason is younger and faster and Betts doesn't do anything much better than him. That said, we're not cutting Rock and Betts, and I'd say Rock is more likely to go.

Sellers is safe, unless I'm secretly picking the rosters, in which case the fullback position will probably just slip my mind entirely.

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
On the Skins website on "Inside the Redskins" the question was asked if Mason has a chance to crack the squad. This was the answer:
Quote:
The double standard kills me. I know I'll hear the " If we let Rock go we need someone to KR then which Mason does not do well." and I challenge with we have Thomas who did well the other day, Moss who has filled in nicely on PR's ...not much different then KR's, and to be honest why not use Betts who has done the job admirably in his first few yrs on the team prior to it being handed over to Rock. Heck Betts is going to get few RB duties so picking up this job would not over extend him. Ultimatly my choices are Portis, Mason, Alridge. However it sounds like they are going to keep Betts and if they are adament about keeping him then my choices would be Portis, Betts, Alridge. We need a speed back to add not only a change of pace but to create some nice packages in any 2 RB plays. |

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
There's no double standard, nobody is out to screw over Mason.
As the #3 back Rock is just fine, but his main role is ST. Typically that's what you are looking for from that spot. Like it or not Mason is not a standout on ST, and it's likely what will cost him a roster spot again this year. Rock might not be a lock to make the team, but it will be Dorsey or Alridge that take his spot, not Mason. |

Hey Matty, you might need to double the RAM upgrade just for Saturday's roster cuts

I know you have a serious mancrush on Mason, but you're really fishing with stuff like this to justify a way to bump Rock off the team. |

I can say one think I don't envy the coaches/FO one bit this time of season as making cuts would just eat at you. I'd keep thinking "what if this guy has an upside I'm missing right now?" And this year especially we've got some real serious competition at certain spots.

re: Redskins make first round of roster cuts
what if the cut list somehow included: Colt, Mason, and Marko. Oh the drama
![]() edit: I know Marko is far fetched, but it would be huge for dramatic effect. |
