Peyton Manning - - Interesting Insight
Sam Farmer is the NFL beat writer/columnist for the LA Times - - analogous to what Mark Maske does for the Washington Post. Here is an interesting piece that he did on Peyton Manning recently.
Jim Mora knew Peyton Manning would be special some day - latimes.com

I agree with Mora. When all is said and done I think he'll end up the best QB ever.

Re: Peyton Manning - - Interesting Insight
peyton, fitz. seems players who hang around nfl teams at a young age and have nfl pedigree do pretty well in the nfl, especially the "taking it professionally" part.
one thing i do really really appreciate about JC is his professionalism and willingness to put the work in. man i just wish things would click for him.

Re: Peyton Manning - - Interesting Insight
Peyton is hands down the most intelligent QB that has ever played, and we are blessed to be able to watch him.

They have the worst running game in the NFL. If everyone KNOWS you're going to pass, and STILL no one can stop you -- you've got to have a super-QB. The guy is simply amazing.
Has any other QB ever called all the offensive plays like Peyton does? |

Re: Peyton Manning - - Interesting Insight
and..... this is what I was afraid of.....
Payton this and Payton that..... You don't know how happy I am the SB is not Favre vs. Manning. I could see the media flipping a coin everyday wondering who's jock they should be on any given day. Don't get me wrong, I'll be the first to say he's an awsome QB but can we get beyond the Manning family story and Payton? No different then I hoped for the Eagles to make the SB and lose big time I hope all until the SB the media talks about nothing but Payton and the Colts get hammered by the Saints. It will make the end of the football year a spectacular event. |

Re: Peyton Manning - - Interesting Insight
The way JC carries him self he is on the same level as P.Manning maybe even more (Professinally and Personally). Manning started a little drama before the season because he didnt like that Tom Moore was to retire and the Colts and B.POLIAN were not saying much on what or who would run there offense. He pretty muched bitched moaned and complained til T.Moore came back. JC has had his offense tweakedand switched and shit on, but he never has complained he just works his best to learn the new offense and get his head bashed in.

Re: Peyton Manning - - Interesting Insight
Well Peyton has some good guys around him as well. He is the best in the game and will probably end up BOAT when his career is finished. He is a competitor that wants to win Lombardis, and not some shmuck that will just show up and make a half assed effort to try and look like he is earning an inflated paycheck. That is a problem that the SKins have, as well as most of the NFL. It is more than talent that sets Peyton apart, he is truly a student of the game and really wants Lombardis bad. So does the Colts FO.

Re: Peyton Manning - - Interesting Insight
SB,
Only way Colts lose is if the first teamers get the flu or something the night before. THe Saints stumbled their way into the SB. THe Vikes practically gave them the game. Saints have played like crap since they played us with the exception of their first playoff game. It is almost like the Skins in '08. Start at 6-2 then limp down to .500 ball. They already got into the playoffs before their slump, but man they sucked in Dec-Jan. |

Plus mostly scrub WRs. Wayne is great but the rest are truly limited. Heck he even makes a so-so talented TE a perennial pro-bowler.

Re: Peyton Manning - - Interesting Insight
As I've said many times on here, Manning is a classless jerk. Only Peyton Manning can rub his ass on a woman and come out with a squeaky clean image. Why?
I guess he's just more proof that if you're a media darling you can do anything you want and still get the endorsements. And why is Tiger losing endorsements? USATODAY.com - Trainer has backers in suit against Mannings
