Re: Michael Vick available...again
While he didn't run an enterprise I would say that LT had his own demons. Love some of the stories about that guy though, like sending hookers to the hotels of the opposing team the night before games.

A dog fighting kennel like his would be considered an "illegal enterprise".
And yes I find the old LT stories funny, and that was more of a guy having to much fun! He was a partier, and a good one. The 80s were a different time to.

80's was about enjoying life. Rather have Rozell than Goodell as Commish. Goodell has taken the fun out of the NFL by making it more corporate and PC.

Re: Michael Vick available...again
I am not making a case for signing Vick here; however I have to disagree w/ the consensus on Vick's ability and his future.
It's been widely reported, and confirmed, that during his 1st tenure in the league Vick 1) rarely practiced 2) never studied film 3) didn't really learn the playbook 4) didn't make a commitment to develop chemistry w/ his WR corp 5) partied a ton and basically didn't focus on football. ...and yet, the dude still managed to win a lot of games on a crappy team. Has Vick likely lost some physical prowess? Probably. But there is little doubt the dude has tremendous athletic ability and talent. There's also little doubt he knows this is his only chance to be great again, so I'd bet the farm Vick 1) practices his ass off 2) studies film constantly 3) memorizes the playbook 4) develops chemistry w/ his WR corp 5) FOCUSES ON FOOTBALL. If he does these things I think he becomes a solid passer, like over 60% completion the first year. I think it's more likely he's a stud than a dud...

Goat
The guy wasn't a passer period. Do you think he is going to all of a sudden become a model QB student of the game after all these years? Hard work, study flim, etc? You kidding me? Vick can't take all the blame for his condition. VA Tech didn't do the guy any favors by giving him everything(chicks, probably $, etc) including a free pass in terms of academics just so he could rake in the dough for them. Can't teach a guy who has been given everything up front, and has relied solely on his athletic ability to all of a sudden become a hard worker. The guy is a journeyman QB from here on out |

Successful schools tend to have successful alumni and area boosters, much like college programs. When you can get an area hyped about football you sell a shitton of tickets and the people who have become movers and shakers will cut you a pretty check.

Re: Michael Vick available...again
I think Mike Vick played at the top of his game with the Falcons. They had the right system for him to excel in. With that being said Mike Vick will struggle to be a starting QB again in the NFL. You cant take 2 years off from the game a come back being better than when you left. The few times I saw Vick play he looked like he lost a step or two. Some team will take a chance on him but I dont think we need to take to. I rather give JC another year and see what he can do with a better O-Line and running game.
