Well I'd take the guy over Jason Campbell unless we were going younger. If they see a guy in the draft that they want as the QB then get him dump Jason and ride with the youngster. If there isn't a guy in the draft then I'd take Vick over Campbell in a heartbeat. No need to attempt to give reasons because I don't have the energy to battle the other 99%of members who are fans of The Jason. I just think that he'd be better served somewhere else but if anyone can get that guy to play better I would like to hope that M.S. could be the guy. One way or the other I hope this team wins but would I take Mike Vick. No doubt about it.

Nah. I actually think you owe it to us and to reality to try to make some argument that Vick could possibly be better than Campbell, because frankly, it's disrespectful to the collective intelligence on the forum to suggest otherwise. I'd accept 99% of us being smarter than you as a reasonable defense for this attitude, but at the end of the day, I don't think that's true at all. I think you relish being a hater of this era of Redskins football, personally.

Newsflash, Campbell is a bad quarterback. Vick was pretty decent before all this trouble started. Even i finally came around to letting Campbell have another year, not everyone has.

Not to just spit out numbers but as a QB, Vick's best year as a quarterback was 2006 when he had 20 TDs and 13 INTs, 6 ypa, a 75.7 rating, and 9 fumbles (3 lost). This past season, which I assume you would say was a bad year for JC, Campbell had 20 TDs, 15 INTs, 7 ypa, an 86.4 rating, and 13 fumbles (3 lost).

I don't think Campbell is the long term answer anymore, but it seems like people unnecessarily make him worse than he is for no apparent reason

Definitely not kidding on this one. The Michael Vick everyone knows is from highlight reels where you get comments like "oh my God he has highlights, he must be this great amazing QB." Yet you watch him from play to play only to be astonished by his inability to read a defense.

Vick benefited from teams being scared of him at the beginning of his career. There was this idea that "oh no, he can run and pass." Eventually teams learned they he could only really run and once they focused on that he got screwed. Jason Campbell is a solid passer and in this league a thrown football can travel much faster then any QB can run.

JC also has completed over 60% of his passes three years in a row now and on top of that has topped the 3,000 yard passing mark twice. Vicks career high completion percentage is 56% and has never passed the 3,000 yard mark. Tack on the fact that age has taken away some of his speed and you have nothing more then an overrated back up who was once the first overall pick.

The Vick mystery has been solved, unless he evolves into a passer his career will basically be limited to a backup role if that. We need Michael Vick like I need a hole in my head.

One of the more overrated stats in all of sports. High winning percentage as a starter can easily mean "I was in the right place at the right time." A la Sanchez this year. No one gives credit to Vicks O-Line, defense, and Warrick Dunn for a lot of their success. On top of that Dan Reeves protected him like mad when he went into his first full year as a starter, limiting him to maybe 20 throws a game, but that worked for him and the Falcons won with ball possession and good defense. Trust me, I watched him every Sunday throughout his career in Atlanta.

Vick had a lot more help then people are willing to admit.

For the record I'm not exactly a fan of Jason, at least not a very good one. If you look at a lot of my post you'll see me calling for us to draft Bradford or Clausen at #4.

Yeah, I've heard of it but haven't sat down to watch it. A preview came on for it while I was watching Everyone Hates Chris (great show) while I was lifting. Apparently next episode will focus on his relationship with his son.

Bottom line is that the Eagles won't let Vick walk unless they get compensation. All of you can talk up Vick all you want, but he is not coming here and you should not want him to come here unless you are willing to part with picks.

If any QB is going to come to Washington, it should be through the draft.

Now that is hilarious. I am the guy that you are saying relishes hating this era of Redskins football. I have not been on talking about Danny selling the team. Or how doomed we are because we "wronged" Jim Zorn, Gregg Williams, or anyother player that isn't a friend of the Danny. As a matter of fact I defend this era of the Skins more than anything. Guys rag on every signing because it's what Danny wants ? Come on G-Tripp.

I do in fact talk about Jason where alot of people here defend him and I don't think that his play deserves it. I personally feel like Vick is still a better QB than Campbell. There is not one good thing about that mans' play besides the fact that he can take a hit like a champ. He doesn't lead this team he waits for everyone to get to wherever he is. Vick is a playmaker Campbell can be. Vick has a strong arm that he is not afraid to use. He has legs that he is not afraid to use. Campbell could've and should've been better. Getting him a line isn't enough for me. I can't sit and say that he should get this and that so he can do what he has done up until now. I am in the minority on this issue in my friends circle as well so I have heard the arguments. I just think that Vick is still a very good QB and Campbell is alright. Period. I ask anyone that feels that Jason is the truth, future, the guy, the franchise (whatever you can call him), when the Dallas went up by 1,....1 f'n point did you have ANY faith that he would lead this team to victory ?

I'm sure the answer is no. Now if the man actually ends up coming back I hope that he will improve and be the guy. I hope that if a WR is drafted or signed that Jason will go out to make sure that he knows what HE expects of him when it comes to this offense. I hope that he makes sure that the other WR's are on the same page with him this season and not waiting til training camp to complain about how we need more time because guys don't have the offense down yet. I hope that he'll start calling his protections, being the freaking leader of this team. Could Vick be that guy ? I don't know. But I know that I would like him to play here. That's my opinion. Like I said before, if we are going with a guy in the draft then don't bring in anyone just let that guy play and see what we have there. I'm cool with rebuilding but I've seen all that Jason can show me, and I'm tired of seeing the same ol' same ol'. Too many guys going to waste with sub-par QB play, but like I said it is just my opinion.

What an arrogant and pedantic post. I doubt too many football analysts, GMs and likewise believe for a second JC is more talented than Vick. As I posted before Vick never practiced, basically put nothing into the game, and yet made plays all over the field w/ his elite athleticism. No doubt he's lost a step by now, but I think it's naive to say he cannot become a better passer considering his previous work ethic. I think a lot of people would look at Vick and say he should only get better as a QB if he is truly committed to his team and career.

Talented at what?.....is the important question, because it sure as shit isn't playing quarterback in the NFL.

Jason Campbell is a legit NFL quarterback. He isn't great or anything, but I can't see a single GM in the league choosing Vick over JC to play the quarterback position for an NFL team.

JC is far more talented than Vick in that regard.

Michael Vick is a very legit canidate for being the most overrated quarterback to ever put on an NFL uniform in the entire history of football.

Though he is very talented.

You're right on most of the above...particularly the arrogance part, but my assessment of the two players is completely founded in reason.

It's quite naive to suggest that ALL of Vick's problems stem from work ethic. A player can struggle to adjust to a dynamic and oft-changing professional sport due to laziness and that can be changed. But once you've gone through a career unable to adjust, then it's frankly impossible to pin it on work ethic.

In 2004...maybe 2005, I think you have a point. In 2010, you've come up empty handed. Team's should handle Vick as to what he is, not what he should have become five years ago. Other than a felon.
