Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Well it's here the grand finally to the 2009 season. Who ya taking to tote the Grandest Prize of all?
I hope it's at least a good game. If it's half as good as todays Washington Capitals VICTORY (14 WINS in a row, today the pens the latest victim) game that will be a treat. I really don't care who wins, just hope for a solid game. Not the Peyton Manning show. Discuss.

It does however, take me back to FOUR GREAT SB'S. All in which my REDSKINS where in play, and those three beautiful trophies we have to show for those years is great. Can't wait for that FOURTH! I don't know how or what feelings I will exhibit!

Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
I am 23 years old and ever since I was 5 i have not missed a SB! I was 6 when we won in 91' and I'm so ready for another Redskins SB! I don't know what the hell I would do lol. But as far as this game goes, I grew up in the New Orleans area and I must say I am really pulling for DEM SAINTS!! I know what their "TRUE" fans have been waiting for their whole lives. I remember going to Saints games and seeing NO ONE there lol. They aren't the AINTS anymore. SAINTS 31 COLTS 29.. Brees MVP

It's kind of bitter sweet i'm excited because it's the SB (wish my Skins were in it), can't wait for it to be over so we can start free agency, draft, training camp & 2010 season. Would like to see the Saints win.

Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
I have a real good question for folks in the DC area.. Why do so many people up there root for teams like Dallas and Pitts. I know a couple of people that live in MD and they hate the skins! WHY? Like I said in my other post, I grew up very close to New Orleans. I've always been a DIEHARD Skins fan but I don't Hate the Saints. So again why do people that live in SKINS country like RIVAL teams?

In football related news for the SB this evening: Updated: February 7, 2010, 4:35 PM ET Freeney ready to go vs. Saints ESPN.com news services Barring any last minute setbacks, Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney will start in the Super Bowl against the New Orleans Saints, sources tell ESPN's Sal Paolantonio. Freeney arrived at Sun Life Stadium at 1:50 p.m. Sunday and began receiving treatment on his torn right ankle ligament, according to Paolantonio. He watched the Colts' final Super Bowl practice from a golf cart on Saturday. The All-Pro defensive end hasn't practiced since tearing a ligament in his right ankle late in the AFC title game Jan. 24. Indianapolis coach Jim Caldwell said Freeney had improved from Friday to Saturday. Freeney has played through pain before this season. He didn't miss a game after straining a quadriceps in late September, an injury that reportedly should have kept him out for up to a month. Some have speculated Freeney may move from the right side to the left so he can push off his good ankle, but Freeney said Thursday a switch to the opposite side wouldn't make much difference.

Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
I just hope the yellow flags don't dictate the game as they have tended to do in recent years. The NFL has to be like the NHL and let the guys play. Unless the holding is rather blatant, don't call it. Holding is the one penalty where the refs could indeed call it just about every play.

I was very glad to hear the Caps beat the birds. I am a Red Wings fan, but unless they play the Caps, I cheer for the Caps. I cheer for the Terps also. I hope their football program rebuilds quickly from a down year. |
