Re: Clinton Portis Interview -- Part 1
i know. ive been one of CP's bigger critics on here but man, i cant help but have this feeling in my gut that a healthy CP this year, with 15-20 carries a game, can easily top 1200 yds. of course, nowadays cracking 1000 yds is nothing but i could see portis having a renaissance of a season. (albeit i give him 1 year of looking like a young CP with burst)
i guess im starting to get that offseason butterfly feeling again where the past doesnt look as bleak and the future holds nothing but promise. i think i picked CP as the player that will most benefit from the coaching change.

well guess what? cp starts the season not in game shape, doesnt know the assignments or block audibles and the o line isnt used to cp running the ball b/c betts is running it in practice. then when zorn goes with betts, cp pops off at the mouth. wheeew my love fest for CP didnt stick around too long.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview -- Part 1
Yep. I've never doubted his talent. He's just been given too much leeway to do what he wants to do in the past. I expect Shanahan to change that.....or send him on his way. I believe practice under Shanahan is mandatory.

Well, I just don't trust CP after the last two seasons, no matter what he says. He's not a true Redskin and never will be a team player.

Just a few months ago when all the controversy was stirring about exchanges between LaVar, Campbell and Portis, fans far and wide had Portis under the bus with his ticket punched...destination out of town. One could conclude now that the views have done a complete 360, Portis is going to be a "we" instead of an "I" and a complete team player void of complaint. Once the decision was made to keep him on the roster, there was no doubt he was going to be about saying and doing all the right things. I think it's safe to say we all want him to have a prosperous season along with the rest of the team. |

Re: Clinton Portis Interview -- Part 1
I dont think he will be close to a 1500 yard back. Too much talent to do that. The question remains how are they going to divide up carries between the 3.

On the field I agree, just look at the way the guy blocks.
Off the field though he's said his share of dumb things that just make you wanna toss him out a window. |

Re: Clinton Portis Interview -- Part 1
If he wasn't a team guy he'd whiff blocks, miss pickups, etc all of the time. The guy gets beat up doing that more than running. Remember the shoulder? Tackling after an interception. Show me what RB that does what he does that we should replace him with as far as being a team player out on the field.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview -- Part 1
Portis plays hard but I wouldn't call him a team player.
