Re: Updated: Colt Cut
I think Grossman's going to surprise a lot of people (skinsfan69 I'm looking in your direction) this year

The Cult is crestfallen. Apparently changing water into wine is one thing, changing an opportunity into a roster spot is something different.

Re: Updated: Colt Cut
Apparently Shanny had seen enough of Colt and Grossman IS a Super Bowl QB. Beck's probably no better or worse than Bartel but has some game experience. Could have a worse #3 QB.

Re: Updated: Colt Cut
Based on recent history, the probability of him playing 100% are roughly 16.66666%. Add in the IRS' depreciating value concept and i would say he's got roughly a 12% chance of taking every snap.

DM has missed 4 games the last 3 years. I think this injury stuff with him is a little overblown.

I've heard reports that Grossman looks good in camp. He DOES know Kyle's system already too.

Re: Updated: Colt Cut
Grossman might be the worst QB to ever start a Super Bowl. They got there cause of their defense and Devin Hester, not Grossman. If he has to play more than a handful of games then the season is done.

those last two items go hand in hand to really increase the chances mcnabb gets hurt. he can't scramble as well as he used to. In my opinion, the only team that can legitimately get by with only two QBs on the roster is Indy. Shanahan would be a fool to roll with only two QBs on the active roster (unless we can stash a decent guy on the practice squad that we're sure no one else would want).

Re: Updated: Colt Cut
I read today(i'm sorry i can't properly reference, like you i read too much 'skins literature), that he hasnt' played 16 complete games but once in the last 6 years. That's where my 16% came in. I think it's entirely likely he'll miss a game or two. He tends to play hurt, so it's not a big deal.

Re: Updated: Colt Cut
Maybe so, but can you name one team that has a backup who can handle "more than a handful of games"? What you want in a backup is someone who can step into a game, without much prep, and continue the game. In that sense, Grossman is a good candidate, clearly he knows how to manage a game, I don't know that Colt ever proved even that much.

Now you want to talk about someone always injured. I go with whatever the FO thinks is best.
