Sources: Revis and Jets Agree on a deal

Looks like Revis' hold out may have paid off?

Sources: Darrelle Revis reaches agreement with New York Jets - ESPN New York

Yeah, want to see numbers. They say it'll be a team record but not NFL record

Re: Sources: Revis and Jets Agree on a deal

I felt like I wouldn't be suprised to see this holdout, along with V.Jack's and McNeill's, extend well into the season. Looks like I was wrong. On the other hand I can easily see V.Jack's and McNeill's easily extending well into the season because AJ Smith is probably the most hardline negotiator in the league.

Unless of course, McNeill's replacement at LT stinks up the joint and Norv Turner realizes they can't win the AFC West if Philip Rivers keeps getting sacked, and then decides to just give in to McNeill's demands like Ryan did for Revis. I don't think Philip Rivers will feel the loss of Jackson as much as he will feel the loss of McNeill, which is why I think Jackson might actually sit out the whole season unless somebody trades for him.

Re: Sources: Revis and Jets Agree on a deal

I can't think of a team in the entire league that wouldn't "cave" for a player of his caliber. I don't like that a guy who is already under contract can hold out for a better contract but it happens. Revis is the best CB in the league hands down. The Jets Defense NEEDS him on the field if they want to be contenders. They know it so they caved.

Not sure you can write it off as the Jets "caving". It's not like he got a ridiculous Nnamdi Asomugha type of deal he was looking for initially. Seems like a good deal for both sides.

4yrs 46 million, 32 mil guarenteed.

This deal is also up when he turns 28, setting him up to make more money.

He gave in the jets won. 32 mil guaranted is good money but I think he held out expecting more.

He didn't get top dollar, but he's making more than the back-up qb. Bottom line, Jets are Sb contenders now. They weren't yesterday.

Let's see how their offense does before we are putting them up as SB contenders. I think they will have to win most of their games 10-7 or something like that.
