Re: Mewelde Moore/Cedric Benson/Joseph Addai
Jordan Todman is a beast and my favorite out of those 3. I would spend on him fo sho. Williams needed to stay another year, Berry is nothing special IMO. Thanks as usual SS. you da man

Re: Mewelde Moore/Cedric Benson/Joseph Addai
Williams was hurt & shared the backfield w/2 others. His 09 season was great. I don't think he had much to gain by staying another year as at one time McShay had him as the #2 rb in the draft. I would love to see him in B&G, but only if we could get him in the 3rd or 4th, which is unlikely since at present we have no picks then & he likely won't last beyond the mid 3rd.

Shanahan has a great history of uncovering RB gems.. I think it is safe for us to expect Shanahan to find someone through draft or undrafted free agency.

That's precisely why I am confident in Keiland Williams, James Davis or any other bum off the street.

Re: Mewelde Moore/Cedric Benson/Joseph Addai
agreed, it's not a position that I see him worrying about early in the draft, given that he's got no 3rd or 4th round. If a guy like Ryan Williams is there in the 3rd or 4th & we've acquired a pick, I wouldn't be surprised if he took him. Lucky for us, the RB class is not too deep & tempting. If there were great prospects to choose from it might just complicate the draft even more.

Re: Mewelde Moore/Cedric Benson/Joseph Addai
I have one question for you...
Did you watch the draft? Did you at least look at the outcome of our picks? Did you see RB next a few of them? No, no, and no...oh wait...NO!!! |

None of them are signed. Only one of them is projected to make the roster. I'd love to see the Roy Roy backfield be successful but they have yet to even attend an NFL training camp. But thanks for the smarta$$ remarks anyways, sonny.

Personally I think Helu is going to be a stud. The rest is just a matter of the lock-out ending. Technicalities at best...
Glad you love my smart$ss remarks... |

Re: Mewelde Moore/Cedric Benson/Joseph Addai
I like the rookies we drafted, Helu in particular. He's got the quickness you look for in Shanahan's system, one cut and homerun. No need to do anything at this position, we're good.

Re: Mewelde Moore/Cedric Benson/Joseph Addai
What Schneed said, except that this is a particularly loaded RB class. In a normal free agency year, this is the kind of class where you know that supply exceeds demand, so you can let the market decide who isn't going to get signed, and then in July you go out and pick up a back like a Jerious Norwood or a Leon Washington who can actually make the difference in one or two out of your 16 games.
Problem is, the market isn't going to set until the middle of the preseason. Now, we are in an advantageous position because we have no need anywhere on the RB depth chart. I still think Shanahan brings someone in, even if it's unlikely they make the team, because it's so rare that a potential starter at RB will be available in the middle of August on a one year contract, but that's where we're at this year.

Re: Mewelde Moore/Cedric Benson/Joseph Addai
This would have been more effective if you actually bumped it after we signed one of them

Not enough space on the 79 man roster in camp. We need RBs with fresh legs.
