In a perfect world, I think he would need to play more before we would come to any conclusions about him as a starter. Unfortunately, since contract decisions loom for both Kirk and RGIII, Kirk's time to prove himself may be shortened. He probably needs to step it up starting with today's game. If Kirk plays poorly today and we lose to Tampa Bay going into our bye week, I wouldn't be shocked if Jay Gruden reinstates RGIII as the starting QB.

I would also say that the expectation was for the running game to be the strength and have Kirk be a game manager a la early Roethlisberger and Flacco, but since the running game has been part of a Houdini act they've relied on KC more than desired. I would assume Jay and Sean McVay were hoping KC would be around 3,000 yd pace instead of 4,000.
On the plus side he has been the best two minute QB I've seen on the Skins in a long time.
