Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Quote:
I think every football player should get whatever they can money-wise for their services. They have to live later with permanent physical injuries and more significantly with the CEP effects of concussions. The average career length in the NFL is 4 years. “Not For Long” = NFL. I was hoping the Redskins could resign Trent. And maybe they will when he finds out what the real market is for him in the NFL. Obviously he wants to be the highest paid OT in the NFL. If the Redskins really try to keep Scherff - he will cost at the top of the OG salaries. Scherff is 28 and in his prime. If the Redskins have to choose between resigning Trent Williams at the top salary versus Scherff at the top salary, they’ll trade Trent. They can’t hire both players at peak contracts.
