Several weeks ago, it was clarified that losing the accrued season only applies to players with less than 3 or 4 years in the league. Trent is a vested veteran, so the rule does not apply to him. The part that still does apply is the fines, and that the team is not allowed to waive them. So Trent can hold out as long as he did last year as long as he’s ok losing the money.
