The 18th NFL Game

We all know it's happening in the not to distant future, the nfl will go to 18 games. What will be that 18th NFL game?


When the nfl expanded to 17th games, they just added a 5th AFC game and used some formula for that 17th game.

I figure when then nfl goes to 18 games, that 18th game will be another afc-nfc game. I propose that 18th game be regional rivalry game. For most teams there's already natural rivals.

Dolphins-Bucs
Steelers-Eagles
Ravens-Commanders
Browns-Lions
Texans-Cowboys
Colts-Bears
Titans-Falcons
Chargers-Rams
Broncos-Seahawks

Raiders-49ers: Former bay area Raiders vs 49ers
Jaguars-Panthers: Battle of 95 expansion teams


The teams without any natural regional rivalries:

Bills, Pats,Bengals,Chiefs and Packers,Vikings,Saints,Cardinals

So you make rivalries with these teams:

My choices:

Bills-Packers: Battle of Cold weather cities, this game would be a December must
Chiefs-Cardinals: Chiefs vs Cards- who were once in Missouri
Bengals-Saints: Who Dey vs Who Dat
Pats-Vikings: Just the last 2 teams left

Hell, you know the greedy owners can make another TV package out of these AFC-NFC rivalry games. For the teams with natural regional rivals, think they would love playing an AFC-NFC rival regulary.
