Washington Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El signed a seven-year contract with base salaries of $585,000 (2006), $595,000 (2007), $820,000 (2008), $4 million (2009), $4.25 million (2010), $4.5 million (2011) and $5.0 million (2012).

I was at the Cowboys forum, representing the Skins as usual, but there they are saying that this contract was setup like this, so we could cut or restructure his contract before his forth year. I feel it is a smart way to setup the contract because it gives the Redskins more options if Randle El does not work out. Is this a bad or good use of money?
