You sorta have to ride that horse out the barn or throw everything away and start over. That close to the draft you might as well pack it in if you fire your lead guy. He would basically consult as to our draft strategies and so forth. That would be dumb of us to let someone go so close to draft who has such vital information.

That secod reason is why teams generally don't rid themselves of personell people until immediately after the draft or immediately after the season. Any other time and they have gained too much info to be let go.
