Re: What does everyone read?
Of the books I have actually read, which have mostly been for school-related stuff, The Catcher in the Rye is the one that really stands out in my mind as the most memorable book.
I actually took a Shakespeare class in college to fulfill my literary course requirement, and I really dug some of that stuff. Henry VIII, The Taming of the Shrew, and MacBeth were excellent. I also liked One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Lord of the Flies a lot. And then there were kids books, there was an author named Matt Christopher who wrote a book about just about every sport there was. I LOVED "The Kid Who Only Hit Homeruns." You can imagine what it was about. There was a kid, and all he did was hit homeruns. He was my hero in 4th grade! An author I really hate? Nathaniel Hawthorne. When I read The Scarlet Letter, I was getting so pissed at how thick his verbage was. I had a hard time wading through his diction.
