Whether one wants to blame injuries, coaching gaffes, or crappy personnel acquisition/management (and a compelling argument can be made as to each), the fact remains that we're a team that is close to being very good, but we're simply not there.

It is a bitter pill to swallow because we ought to be a very good team. JC is a legitimate QB, Portis is now showing his old spark, the O-line is hanging together and providing holes and decent protection, we're actually getting to the other side's QB occasionally, causing some turnovers, and are playing decent special teams -- all real positives. But the mark of a playoff team is winning the winable games, and we're not doing that. Barring a surprise win against Dallas (which appears unlikely, although these games are usually close) and getting some momentum back, I think we will be cooked and things will slide further. I truly hope I am wrong, but the way Philly scored that last TD made me feel like we'd just flat out gave up in a game against an NFC division foe at home. It made me sick. :vomit:
Know that the last touchdown was a "gimme" so that we'd get the ball back with time on the clock. At that point we were "only" 8 points down with a chance to get even and had 2:15 (if I remember correctly) left on the clock.

So letting that last touchdown be scored quickly was a great strategic move...
