Brunell hasn't done much, but enough to remain the starter. |

Brunell isn't a bad QB, but we'd be better with Ramsey. |

Gibbs stayed with Rypien the whole year. Never lost faith in him. During a Monday Night game, Al Michaels said he talked with Gibbs and asked about Rypien's performance. Gibbs responded by saying, "he's been a little bit off -- just like the rest of us." Gibbs won't pull any Spurrier QB merry-go-rounds. He'll stick with Brunell until he starts throwing INTs after INTs. And as bad as Brunell has been, he hasn't COMPLETELY screwed up by giving the ball away like we saw Ramsey do against the Giants. That's Brunell's only saving grace. Brunell has been ineffective, but Ramsey would probably be even worse. That's why you aren't seeing #11 warm up on the sidelines. Still, I would say that at this point, you might as well give it to Ramsey to see once and for all what you've got. But Gibbs won't do that. He had no problem during all those years letting rookie quarterbacks hold the clipboard for season after season before handing him the reigns. I suspect he'll follow the same pattern for Ramsey. I do think we will see a first round draft pick on QB next year. |
