So the trade off was, let Gregg Williams go, and maybe lose a little on defense. But in exhange you get Zorn to run the offense, who probably was an upgrade over whomever Williams would have let run the offense. Make sense? I know, it's all conjecture.

I think Zorn would still have been the O-coordinator if Williams was hired as HC, but you make an excellent point. Defensive head coaches tend to have offenses that play as though the field consists of wet cement. Herm Edwards is Exhibit A.
This way, the defensive scheme stays basically intact, and the real problem, offense, gets the much needed attention.
