Re: Jansen was very solid today
hmm...thinking about this one.
If a RT can't pass block, you get em help. If a RT can't run block, you don't play em. Run blocking can be learned, pass blocking requires speed. Ideally, Heyer needs to learn how to drive a man off the ball before he becomes a legitamate long term starter...otherwise, he should be a LT backup and at best RT starter. Jansen is an ideal backup for interior line and an obvious starter if he can hold his own 1 on 1 against the pass rush....which he has done in the last 2 weeks. Using that same measure of judgement, why not argue to bench Samuels, he has gotten beaten several times in the last 2-3 weeks for sacks, even with Portis help....ridiculous. Samuels is solid and Jansen has played as well as any time in the last 3 years... I say, keep Jansen in until he give up 3 sacks in a game....and that my friends, aint gunna happen anytime soon.
