Oakland's pass defense ranks third in the NFL since DeAngelo Hall was released.
He's got great hands, but if we ever rely on him to be more than a No. 3 CB (and basically just Fred Smoot with ball skills), we're really going to get it. I think the talk of releasing Springs is legitimate and everything, but who is going to be the number two corner if Smoot and Springs go? Hall can't play it, and isn't deserving of an extension at starter money. He'll get it though if he wants it because he's incredibly marketable in the area and his jersey will sell. As a business decision, we are 100% certain to re-sign DeAngelo Hall. The question is: what measures can we take to make sure he doesn't kill us on the football field?
