Sorry stats just don't do it for me ppg is fine but in his second year Spurrier was totally lost we jumped to a 3-1 start last year and finished 5-11. Our offence was horrible down the stretch last year and was the reason we were loosing games.

The difference this year yes we have spluttered offensivlybut we have finished strongly insted of colapsing. We have also for the first time in years started winning the games we are supposed to. Yes we have had a tough defense but not a spectaular big play defense. We have had turnovers that have stopped opposing offenses but I think the defence has only put a handful of points on the board and that is what we needed in the midst of the offense strugles.

Everyone harps on about how we should have stuck with Marty, Spurrier and even Norv but Shottenhiemer came here after a year of critzing Dan Snyder from the commentary booth, when the going got tough thier was an underlying animosity which ment problems just were not worked out. Also rember Marty has been in San Deigo for three years and has not worked miricals in his previous years and probably would do without Brees playing his heart out.

Spurriers problems were more deap seated than on field penalties the team played without heart or pride and that comes from the top down. When your HC doesnt know who is being cut or injured because he cannot be bothered to go to team meetings what message does that send to the rest of the team . Say what you want about Vinny and Snyder fingers medling with the roster Spurrier could have known what was goign on he just didn't choose to and I guess that could be but down to the difference between how things are done in the college system and the NFL and could be excusable in his first season but not in year two.

Gibbs is the guy we have right now, either get on the bus or don't.. but fact is we have a better record this year than we did have last year and there is ome of the familiar swagger comming back . No we shouldn't be proud of a 6-10 season but I feel we are on the right road thats my oppinion right now but thats partly becasue I am looking forward if Gibbs flames out and disappears after year three then I will be behind the new guy... you just cannot look back live for the day.
