By that time Donovan is over the hill or a walking injury due to the lack of protection. Also in the scheme of things if we went 2-6 or 4-4 before the bye, what difference does that make? 4-12 or 8-8 isn't going to get you invited to the big playoff party. THe loss of two picks in 2011 set us back a bit for rebuilding the offensive line.

This organization has given away alot more pick and gotten a lot less in return than they have for the 2 pick they gave for DM. This year in the NFC 8-8 might just do the trick and who know they could get luck and get to 9-7, with DM they actually have a shot at getting lucky, with JC they had no shot at anything.
