They're still learning how to win. They're a talented bunch, now they just have to put it all together.

And their franchise QB didn't play until today. They've been in every game except for the Rams (wow is that an inconsistent team). Calvin Johnson is the best WR in the league. Suh will be an All-Pro for the next decade or so. They have several former HC's as position or coordinator coaches on staff. They beat the Bears (though a bad rule stole it from them).
