Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread
If Warren Moon had been drafted in the 70's, like he should have been, he would most likely had every passing record there is. Sorry, RG3 does not have the passing ability that Warren Moon had. End of discussion.

Yep. Him and London need to go next year, they make our average team age a lot worse than what it is, and their age is really showing. Go young all over.

RG would be a monster paired with those coaches. There's lots of coaches that would maximize his potential WITHOUT also making him a human piñata. Anyone who's experienced with a spread style like NO and certainly anyone who's shown the ability to mold scheme around personnel: Darth Hoody, Harbough brothers, Pete Carol, Jon fox. Who else?

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread
I don't think any second year player should be compared to hall of famers. Including RG3 to Moon or Luck to Manning. At least until they prove they can sustain success of a couple of years.

NFL - Bill Polian - Why RG3 is a prototypical QB - ESPN Keep in mind in RG3's senior season at Baylor he completed over 72% of his passes and thru his first few games in 2011 had more TDs than incompletions. Even in the RO offense last year he completed 65% of his passes for a 102 QB rating. Different eras of course, but Moon's completion % was over 60% in only 6 yrs. of his NFL career. RG3 has all the physical and mental tools to be every bit the passer Moon was.....it remains to be seen if Allen & Snyder can see how his growth as a passer is being stunted by MS/KS.

Jim Mora's doing some good things at UCLA and may be looking to get back into the NFL. Both his OC & DC have NFL experience and are key to UCLA's revival.

As far as I am concerned you can pretty much throw out the second half of these first two games. Misleading garbage yards and points. This team is nothing short of terrible right now. The bad O is making it worse for the bad D, which is making it even worse for the bad O...snowball... ![]() Last edited by Chief X_Phackter; 09-15-2013 at 11:56 PM. |

You know what bruv...I think you're right. Det, with Megatron, Bush, Stafford, has some real fire power. I can imagine a blowout loss, again, next week.

Why can't Griffin be compared to Steve young? Or john elway? It gets old comparing race to race, I agree with cam Newton when he said "what's the big deal about black Qbs "

Too early to compare him to HOF players.

Kyle Shanahan let RGIII be RGIII open the playbook to him run the read option if you don't feel safe about it well he shouldn't be playing. Either let him do what he does or don't play him. This pocket crap is for Kirk Cousins and Rex, It's like we're forcing RGIII to be a run of the mill QB and thats not what we drafted him for. Secondly the offense has to be in sync no more blocks to the back etc and missed routes. Third DEFENSE STOP SOMEBODY these rookies in the secondary better cover better. and finally......for god sakes WRAP UP when you lay the hit. But seriously if RGIII isn't 100% he shouldn't be in the game. This is hurting the team The eagles was a winnable game. |

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread
Would be the first time in the HISTORY of this team Detroit has beat us at home...and by history I mean some pretty terrible redskins teams. Somehow I don't think 16-0 against the Lions at home is going to fall Sunday. Even Pat Ramsay beat these guys.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread
-I want Reed to play more. He was one of the only sure tacklers we had on defense today.
- Amerson/Rambo were missing tackles, and out of position a few times. The one play it looked like we checked off the coverage, and everyone knew it put Amerson. It resulted in a TD pass. - RG3 is still looking like he's holding back. I can't really explain it, but even on his roll outs he looks a bit slower. It could just be the knee brace preventing him from bursting, but you can see the rust. He was bobbling snaps, faking the wrong way, messing up the play, dancing in the pocket, and overthrowing a lot of WR's today. - We need to start playing more man coverage. I know a lot of you think this is crazy since you lack faith in our secondary, but with 2 rookies, and a good pass rush. I feel like the best route is to man up and pressure the QB. Most of our touchdowns allowed have been from blown coverages, and I feel like it'll help the rookies out by playing more man. - A lot of people didn't like Danny Smith, but i'll be damned if we had all these bonehead penalties over and over and over again on special teams when he was here. It seems like we can't even have our special teams on the field without a penalty. Hell, even our onside kick last week had a penalty. - Oh, and before I forget... Jordan Reed seems to have the best hands on the team this season. The guy catches everything. I wouldn't be surprised to see him take over the starting role by the bye week.
