Doesn't mean you should though.

Wait until someone invents clear football pants...you want that too just because technology makes it possible.

I had a friend over to watch the Redskins play one Sunday and we were talking about teams that should update their logos. The Cardinals came up as one that is not very intimidating that should get a make over. I know there is a fine line between going with something new and radical verses a traditional look like say the Bears "C", the Cowboys "Star" or the Raiders "skull" but the Cardinals should update that red bird and make it more "scary".

^Yeah, the Cards already made their bird look "tougher".

It's also one I would not stray from. The white helmet with the red bird on the side has been in the NFL since 1961 and through St. Louis, Phoenix and now Arizona. It's not known for winning but it is one of the classic looks of the league that I think should stay. The name Cardinals was previously in Chicago too, dating back to 1920.

There have been some crazy concepts, many using the Arizona flag's stripes on the helmet...I say no thanks.

Dolphins didn't look too bad last night. They won't wear the aqua jerseys much this year, usually going to be all white.

I guess it's growing on me but I still hate that you can't notice any prominent orange unless up close. Dropping the orange was the one big mistake to me. It seems to show up better in photos than on TV though. That aqua is BRIGHT too!

We might have discussed this before, but I thought I remember reading somewhere that they went back to their original color aqua. I like it and they never really had too much orange anyhow, so its not something that will be totally missed. I think the biggest change is the white face masks. At first I wasn't sure I like it, but it has grown on me.

Also, I dont know if you noticed, but it looked like the NFL finally caught up to Bowen and his "Illegal" face mask for having to many bars. Crappy pic but you can see it is a schutt mask with the "eyelids". Still wild but legal under the new rules.

The NFL will sting players for wearing the wrong cleats, sweatbands or non-league-issued gear. They have an inspector who makes his way around the field and personally checks out players' garb.

No joke. But now inspectors apparently have followed the players inside locker rooms and are threatening to issue fines for those who are not in sartorial lockstep with the league's stringent and ridiculous rules on what can and can't be worn. Yes, even after the game.

Case in point: Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall was laughing, joking and filling up reporters' notebooks and recording devices with post-game gold after Sunday's victory over the Oakland Raiders. Hall, when he wants to be, is among the more quotable and colorful players in the league.


But as he talked to a gaggle of media, Hall — wearing a Lacoste logo shirt — was approached by the NFL inspector and asked to stop talking because of his shirt.

Meanwhile Von Miller goes on camera wearing a t-shirt referring to the rapper lifestyle/gang activity...and Hall gets crap for dressing in a nice polo shirt. Apparently Miller's is fine because there's no obvious company logo.

Wait...Operation Patience is not a company name...seems like they enforce only when they want to.
