Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
If we're talking wish list, Im going Tony Dungy. Him and RG3 would be great together.

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
After today I'm pretty much done.. I held the flag, was saying stay the course, do the extensin and maybe it's the rum talking but I'm over this team and regime.
GM-Scott Pioli-The team he put together in KC is doing pretty good with a real coach. HC-Lovie Smith-He wins, runs a disciplined team, players love him and love playing for him. OC-Joe Philbin-Let him teach RG3 how to fully play the position as he did with Rodgers DC-Raheem Morris-Relationships with Smith and the holdover players from the roster. I don't think we're far away from the team we were last year and expected to be this year. With foundation players RG3, Morris, Young, Garcon, Reed and Williams the offense has significant piecess. On defense, it's Kerrigan, Amerson, maybe Rak, maybe Riley, maybe Cofield. Other than that, everyone can kick rocks.

Well if that's true I'd welcome him as our OC

Darrell Bevell's offense has quietly been accumulating points this season.

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
At this point, I don't think an extension is really going to do much good for Mike Shanahan or the team. He can fire Haslett and Kyle, or let them go onto other things, whatever, but even those changes I don't think are enough. I think Shahanan is a brilliant offensive mind, I think he's done a lot of good for the organization as a whole but as a coach on Sunday he's struggled and, well, you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
So I probably tell him we will honor your contract but we are not offering an extension. My guess is he says thanks, but I'm not sticking around to be a lame duck coach and goes on his way. The first thing I would do after that (maybe even before) is accelerate the inevitable, what's been talked about at Redskins Park for the better of a year and promote Bruce Allen to President. Or whatever title is you want to give him, but put him in charge of the business side of things like has been planned. I let Bruce, Dan, and AJ Smith (mainly because this is already happening) decide on a General Manager. Whether it's promoting someone like Morocco Brown, or bringing in someone from outside. And then I let the GM decide who will be the HC

I agree SS
My top 5 Candidates if they are interested in DC and we are in them.. 1. Jon Gruden 2. Dungy 3. Roman 4. Lovie Smith 5. Bowles

Re: Who's your pick's for next HC, DC and OC?
I think Tony Dungy is happy relaxing and mentoring young players/coaches.
Plus after the Shanahan experiment I don't want the Skins to hire a coach that has already built his legacy somewhere else. Rarely if ever do you see NFL coaches sustain success with two different pro teams. |
