Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Been following the tweets from Gruden's press conference today. Say what you will, the man shoot straight from the hip.
Responding to D.Jax's post on Instagram (Can't be epic with basic ****"): Addressed the comments with the team. Agreed that they were aimed at RG3. As to RGIII's comments that the everyone the team needs to look in the mirror: RGIII needs to worry about himself. It's Gruden's job to worry about the team. On RGIII's play: - Screwing up basics. Not anywhere close to where he needs to be. Taking 5 step drops on 3 step routes. Not moving up in the pocket when he should. Footwork really bad. - His overthrows to D.Jax were big plays. TBay hit their plays to Evans, needed to hit ours to D.Jax; Ian Rappaport: "I can't say I have ever heard a head coach talk about his QB like Jay Gruden just did about RGIII. Very, very real stuff." B. McHenry: "Look at the massive rift between RG3 & Shanahan behind closed doors. Gruden went hard publicly. Interesting to see how Griffin handles." Huge fan of RG3 - but, yup. Sit down, shut up, & play hard. Stop tweeting about haters and improve your footwork and pocket presence. Learn your position before telling others they need to improve theirs. Bigger fan of Gruden. He may fail here, but the man stepped it up and said. "My team. My calls."

I agree and disagree -- RGIII surely needs to focus on his own game, but as the QB, he has responsibility for movement and positioning of other guys on offense and leading in the huddle, and so he has to lead there and make sure others are on the same page with him.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
by bringing the bullshit into the open then there is less drama. It is hard to troll the truth. Now he just needs to sit RG.3 and try to get the rest of the team back to buying in - which they were after Dallas; meaning he has to follow through. It might not be this week but it needs to be soon.
RG.3 needs to shut his mouth too. He is coming across as a spoiled baby every time he speaks to the press; no way grown men will follow that bullshit. It is pretty clear to me....team fixes Captain Kirk and the Starship Interception (who ever used that first props and thanks) McCoy comes in wins 2 games by not shitting his pants in the pocket, all looks well.... RGMe takes the helm and starts calling audibles in whinese and the team says @#$% you That is a simple way to look at it, but I don't think it is far off.... |

Expectations for the rest of the season...

Watch the press conference. His comments were completely misconstrued. He was asked about his 2012 campaign. In sticking with his modest demeanor he said that it was teamwork. In other words it was not all him. Than simply said that it has to be the same now in so many words. Nothing wrong with that at all. What did he say that sounded like a spoiled baby?? Edit: yes he has to play better - waaay better. However I have absolutely no problem with the post game stuff.....except the hat has to go. |

Agreed, this "straight shooter" BS isn't going to help things calm down. The whole damn team needs less talk and more action.

Outside DeSean Jackson, Andre Roberts, Amerson, Breeland and Way. I don't see much on this team. I can deal with losses. I can't deal with beating ourselves as we do week in week out. The only thing I can count on with this team, is that at least once per game the defense will leave a receiver completely uncovered.
