Seriously though,
You can't guarantee anyone's health. TW could go out the first game, what then. I admit, I just want the RT position to be fixed, then we can go through the draft and focus on defense. Moses won't be a solution this year, maybe not next.

I don't think we are even looking at BB, so it seems like we are going to go with another cutrate solution, and next year we will be back here again, looking at FA RT and whether we should build through the draft...

Right now, before FA starts, we don't have one RT that should be considered for starting Week 1, and our LT is coming off an injury/bad play. But hey, lets sign a second rate guy and watch all our QB's play sack avoidance 101 and keep on throwing those INT's.
I disagree on if you build through the draft. At some point the drafted guy is finally ready. And I assume that is how SM is looking at it. I have liked the approach that SM has taken so far. If he can get value, then get it, but he hasnt broke the bank.

I dont put SM 's drafting ability any where near as low as Vinny or Bruce. Even without him having gone through his first draft with us yet. My real concern with this draft is SM hasnt had a chance to get "his people" as scouts.

Im with you on whether Moses is going to be the solution. He is going to have to go through a huge change in his technique that some cant make.

Perhaps, but I think he sees the overall big picture. This isn't a SB contending team, not last year or this year. The Jackson signing to me would be something we do when we get to that level. There was no one in Ashburn last year that sees or understands that. Glad Jackson's here and all, but the signing obviously didn't make the team any better. By the time we get to that point, if we get to that point, it will be time for Jackson to be replaced.

SM has made forays into the FA market before for young big names. Clements and Smith come to mind. And SF wasn't great when he did that. I think it is reasonable to believe he could have been in on DJax.

This could be interesting. Maybe move DHall to safety if we get Cox?

Helu gone.

@RapSheet: Roy Helu agrees with the #Raiders on a 2-year deal worth over $4M, source said. (as @caplannfl said).

No big loss there. The guy could run but was invisible as a blocker. Man I wish we'd pick up someone. Unless Redd jr. improves up to second string.

Redskins to get a visit from a cornerback | Comcast SportsNet Washington
If we were gonna get one of their corners I would rather have Chris Culliver, as long as he isn't guarding Jacoby Jones or referencing players who are gay he is a pretty decent corner

Between Culliver and Cox, I'd give Culliver the slight edge. Culliver has some off field baggage.

San Francisco Cornerbacks: Perrish Cox or Chris Culliver?

Fast forward to 2014, and Cox is fourth on the depth chart behind starters Culliver and Brock, and Ward who played in the slot. After Brock went down with turf toe, it moved Cox into the starting lineup.

Cox then proceeded to play at a Pro Bowl level for the first half of the season. He played so well that many fans were calling for Culliver to be benched instead of Cox when Brock returned from injury.

Cox fell off towards the end of the season, but he played well enough that we’re even having this conversation about whether we should keep him or Culliver.

What history tells us is that Cox was practically a journeyman corner that has had one good half of a season in his career, while Culliver has always been considered better than both Cox and Brock by the coaches. Culliver’s absence opened up the opportunities for both Cox and Brock.

This is a random 49er website, but gives a history for Cox, and as described -- seems like a one-year wonder with a speckled off-field past. Would be okay with a protected incentivized contract, but carries some risk.
