They are trying to eliminate the holding and contact with the DBs to increase scoring, dont know if that has worked yet haven't read any stats to support it. There is now way you can try and stop holding and pulling down, there would be a penalty on every play if they did call the holding and pulling down that goes on. I think they do a pretty decent job for what they have to deal with on the field. I wouldn't want to be out there with 300lb+ line man running at me, linebackers running over me to get to the ball. QBs throwing darts at my head to hit the receiver across the middle.
