Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
I wouldn't sign Cousins to any extended contract
Sign him to a one year contract, no more than 10 million, with the option to pickup an extended contract if he pans out. He was okay this season, not fantastic, he didn't lead us to any wins over teams with a winning record, all of our wins came off of teams with 8-8 or worse records. He may be a good QB, or he may turn out to be another dud, don't pin too much hopes on him just yet. |

All I'm saying is sign him to one year contract, with an option for a longer pickup if he does well next season, this way we don't tie ourselves to yet another QB that may fizzle out (take a look at our QB position over the last few decades, it's been a continuous cycle of expensive failures) |

And if he's not willing to accept it, then so be it, he's not so good that we can't afford to lose him. He's not a top tier QB, I'd hesitate before even putting him in tier two. We won't be lost without him. |

A very accurate assessment:
Redskins have plenty of work to do to return to postseason - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)
How much do we have w cap room? Thought it was close to $50 mil but if we keep DJax and pay Cousins, that number goes down a lot.
Offseason priorities: -- Dline, LB, Center+LG, safety, CB, RB 1) FA - fill gaps above 2) Draft - best available with focus on spots above 3) Get healthy -- Galette, Culliver, Ihenacho, Niles Paul, Hayward, Jarrett.. Hoping Breeland/Smith/Dunbar/Scherff/Moses develop.. Hope Ihenacho gets better -- maybe him & Hall back there? Finally some hope for future. Hope this continues, tired of a flash playoff run followed by ineptitude. McC is the difference from the past. |

We'd have no QB......period. He's proved himself by far, do you not look at numbers and ratings and record books and stuff?

I couldn't agree more. Offer him what he is worth, and it's a good thing you aren't the one to figure that out.
