That is a lot of ifs. I imagine that could be done, but (a) why would Robert want to help us, (b) why would a team what he wants to go to pay for him instead of waiting until he is cut.

We have NO leverage. I hope he ends up in the AFC, but I have a hunch he is going to end up in Dallas.

Thank you. That's let's me know it was a good draft.

The S and TE would have been reaches the way the draft unfolded and I'm a BPA guy I don't reach.

Don't need a TE. We have Reed and we have Paul coming back. No reason to draft a TE. Our biggest issues are on the defense by far.

We know the injury history of Reed and now Paul is coming off a major ankle injury. We also witnessed a major problem with the run game with a non blocking TE a contributing factor.

While I don't think TE is say a top 3 round pick...certainly taking one to develop, play special teams wouldn't be a bad pick

The problem with that online draft is that it presents the user with some unlikely scenarios and he feels compelled to take advantage of them. I really don't see either Robinson or Thomas being there for us in the first two rounds.

I like your picks of Boehm and Hogan in the 6th and 7th rounds, respectively. If those two were to fall to those rounds, I'd be pleased to have them.

Paul had a pretty bad break, who knows how solid he will be next year.
He was a good player but no Mark Bavaro.
Tight ends are the new #1s.
I'll bet my left nut we take one before the seventh pick.

Amazing that we're on year 2 of the McC regime and people still don't realize he doesn't draft for need. Let me put it like this: If you need a safety but you scouted all of the safeties and decided they were either overvalued (i.e. teams will be reaching for them) or none of them were that good why would you take one? Sure, maybe your plan of action is to grab a guy in FA or trade for one but those both fall through, so then maybe you grab one in the later rounds as some backup insurance, but that would be a last case, desperate scenario in case all your better options fall through.

Now on the flip side, this tight end class might be one of the best in history, but you already have a baller at TE and you have more needs so you don't want to waste a pick. If you haven't realized by now that McC would rather grab a TE that he likes vs. a safety he's not sold on, then you apparently haven't done your research on McC. From day one he's said he drafts BPA. Occasionally we'll get lucky and the BPA will fill a need, but if it doesn't I have no reason to be concerned. Not a single member of any draft class is guaranteed to give you equal returns based on draft position. So if it's a crapshoot you might as well pick the guy you think has the best chance to succeed long term. I trust McC's player evaluations, so I have complete faith in him. If he decides to go punter with the first rounder, I have complete confidence that he's done his homework and has decided that's the best player to draft.

People forget about Carrier as well. Was a solid run blocker

To leave out RB is very poor.

Garcon, had a bounce back season and played extremely well after the first six games of the season. Crowder is solidified in the slot. Ryan Grant and Andre Roberts aren't good WRs. Ryan Grant...potential has worn out. Ross much more effective.

Pot Roast played at a high level after the bye. Hatcher and Ricky Jean were effective at DE.

Decisions, decisions for McC for those 2 personnel groups.

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)

lets start with possible free-agent signings first, then we can do mock drafts

I think they can get a veteran center, TE, S and maybe more in free agency
