Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag

Cousins will be 29 when this 2017 season starts (dob 8/19/88). He will be at least 1 year older when 2018 season starts.

At what point does Cousins and McCartney have to consider age as a motivating factor to get a LTD done.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Allen and Cousins’ agent Mike McCartney had their first face-to-face meeting about the contract for the first time in two years at last month’s league meetings. They have since met a second time, which is part of an “improved, encouraging tone” that has created hope that a deal could get done by the deadline or after the 2017 season if things don’t move quite that quickly.

Article from 6/7/17 .... I guess the good news is that they are finally talking, but oddly how the hell do you go 2 years without having face to face talks w Cousins agent? Im sure Bruce's response will be that they have telephones in Hawaii but man.
