Same old problem with Norv. He's got a pretty good offense, but the defense sucks.

Norv is an offensive coordinator. Not a head coach. He just doesn't have what it takes.

I really hope we crush the Raiders

Yeah, unfortunately, that is the most fond memory of this team. I was so young when we won our last Super Bowl I can remember falling asleep during the game.

That and some commercials about how the "fire still burns" because they were undefeated so late in the season, but not much of the actual games.

The black jersey's just another marketing gimmick and the idea of a pink jersey isn't even a good idea. 4-0 at home in the white. KEEP THE WHITE!!!

Yep, and you can't take that away from him. We had an adequate defense that year, but it wasn't enough.

They were a botched snap away from the NFC Championship game that year. It was the only time when he had a top-flight QB in Brad Johnson, and just about everything else on offense fell right into place.

I've always thought that Norv's problems started with drafting Heath Shuler in '94. If he pans out, you never know what that could have started for this team in the mid '90s. But he didn't, and not until 1999 did this team recover.

And although Johnson did win the trophy elsewhere, what a great season he had in '99. 4-thousand yards passing. He, Centers and Davis really led that O.

Re: Black jerseys next home game?

What Norv Turner lacked mostly, and this is seldom ever noticed by fans and "sports experts" is the fact that he wasn't a very good team manager. What I mean is that a good team manager is going to first surround himself around the right group of coaches before he even considers the guys stepping out on the field. No matter how good the guys on the field might be, it starts with the coaching staff. If Norv was better in that area of being a head coach, it is no tellings how successful Turner could have been.

Don't get me wrong, we still would have went through growing pains, but probably not as long as we did until our first playoff appearance since Gibbs 1.0.

Anyone have a black jersey? How do they look? What about the numbers? I read they are made of twill. Is it any good after a wash?

Never happen that the Redskins will play in Black.
I saw a PINK portis jersey....oh no!

The Black ones may sell but will never be on field.
IMHO

I hope it never sees the playing field. I really doubt that happens, but maybe I'd be interested in changing our look if Gibbs and the classic Redskins weren't already in place.
