To be fair to JD5, only 1 injury this year was induced by his not going down, and even then, it was a somewhat dumb 'stick my arm out' move not a hard hit. JD5 was looking early like he'd learned that unless the game/season is on the line, just avoid a pointless hit. Dart looks positively suicidal, and his comments after suggest he doesn't care. he soon will when he gets a season/career ender.

I agree but we also can't ignore the fact that JD5 has now had 4 different injuries in 1.5 years... He's also basically missed his entire "sophomore" campaign.. Dart is built thicker to take hits, his issue will be concussions

Re: Around the League

For all his injuries, JD5 has avoided concussions. I do think thickening his frame more, without going OTT, can only be good for his career, but avoiding headshots is probably top priority. I'd say at this stage, Tua is near done, and he's only 27. Dart should avoid going the same way.

Seems like anytime I watch the Giants Dart takes some hellacious hits.

This

He’s too damn good of a passer. Him and the team need to come up with a strategy which can use his feet and limit the unnecessary hits.

I’ve seen him many times scramble and refuse to throw the ball away for a 1 - 2 yard gain and then take contact. One of those resulted in missing multiple games.

Develop a better run game with better talent in the backfield to take the pressure off him to run. And throw the ball away rather than take contact

Start there

Re: Around the League

I get where he's coming from (you give into the expectation people have based on your income alone), and I sympathise with those that don't know how to manage money and not give into a lifestyle or get manipulated into blowing it. But don't open your mouth like that, it makes you sound like an idiot. Be humble, understand your mistakes and try to help others not do the same.

And there are plenty that don't succumb to the pressure and stay grounded, i.e. Look at Alfred Morris and his Mazda. Or know/learn how to invest and make their money last and grow, like Tom Brady. Telling people it's hard to live off a $100M contract is just dumb.

It's not like real estate is a bad investment.. cars are the worst investments and that is the first thing some athletes buy ! buy a nice home and buy your mom a nice home .. solid investment, get one or two nice vehicles.. invest most of money in secure investments and a person could be set .. at least most of us could

Re: Around the League

He made around 100 million, so that's really 45-50 million after taxes and agent. Also he had a ton of endorsement contracts. He easily made another 30 million there. He could have just lived off that and put the football money in the bank. I don't get it.

Re: Around the League

The thing too, his social media accounts are filled with him blowing money.

It’s a timeline.

People asks how this happened? He simply cared about money and a lifestyle more than anything else in his life. What a fool
