Redskins will carry 5 backs!
In his press conference tonight Coach Gibbs said " all of our backs can contribute. Rock, Mike, Betts, AND T.J Ducket" None of them are going anywhere. Add Lumsem or Manuel White. We are set
Again Gibbs, shows us all....IS obviously a JEDI!

Maybe that is what coach would say..But I see depth in natural athele's. The key is that everyone contibutes.

Special Teams is where Rock and Betts shine. I would rather have 5 running backs than 5 recievers.

Honestly, with how poor our backup offensive line has played, I could see us carrying less backups for a game than we ussually would have? I could see us carrying all those guys and having less guys at another position.

Cartwright could be kept and listed as FB.
I see the RB spot possibly shaping up like this: Portis, Betts, Duckett. At FB: Cartwright, Sellers. I can't see us keeping more than 5 players at these two spots. I think White and Nemo are as good as gone. |

The more I think about it the more it seems White is gone, in addition to Nemo being gone. White just hasn't done that much.

I'm down with that. Maybe it'll stop the bitching among Betts and Cartwright.
Nemo LOVES to fumble. I've seen a couple flashes against third stringers, but I'd rather have our guys who've proven something.

I read something this morning that reminded me of a similar situation we've had here.
We ran a 3-headed monster at RB in 1991 with Byner/Ervins/Riggs. Perhaps that what Gibbs has in mind this year. Portis is the main guy, Betts change of pace, and Duckett the bruiser. Sounds like a plan to me! |
