Right, so how bad was Gibbs' offense then?

It sure hasn't improved under Saunders that's for sure.

Were you complaining about that decision last year or the year before that as well?

This is why your defense is illogical. In an earlier post, you claimed it was Joe Gibbs' decision to get AA, yet in this post you're blaming Joe Gibbs for giving Williams complete autonomy. Again, it's a weak argument. You can put anyone in as head coach you want, and if Saunders and Williams continued to have under achieving offenses and defenses, you would still fire the head coach every year and ignore the coordinators.

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

I just got home from the game, and while I had the opportunity to witness another heart breaking loss, at least for this season, that's been the way of the world. There were some good things we did out there today, but our defense leaves al lot to be desired, and I'll just leave it at that.

Since we lost the game today, I could hardly wait to turn on the computer when I got here to see how many fire everybody threads had started, and I wasn't suprised. The difference between the post here this week and last are like night and day.

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

Well since you have all the answers Paulskinsfan, who should we hire as coach next year? Whoever it is, I doubt he will be better than Joe Gibbs and the rest of this staff. Gibbs knows what he's doing. He'll get this turned around next year.

Re: Im done....Gibbs must go.

"i loved the playcalling"

You loved the fact that Swish was sent out there for a 50 yard FG as his first FG attempt with the Skins when we were up by 11 and punting would've pinned them back? You loved how we failed to go to a hurry up offense needing 2 scores with less than 5 minutes to go? You loved how we spiked the ball on the goal line and threw a fade to Thrash while TJ Duckett sits once again on the sideline. Ok, people have different opinions I guess. I did love the run first mentality of the first quarter, that's all I did love.

I think you're referring more to game decisions, not playcalls.

yes, i lvoe the fact we tried the field goal, which he missed by inches. 50 yard field goals are typically taken, every coach would have tried that one...i love the running game we had and the heavy doses, and i love the passing plays that were called. it comes down to execution in the end. the spike at the goal line was very questionable, but as a whole i thought the gameplan was great from an offensive standpoint

I never ever ever claimed that it was Joe Gibbs decesion to get AA. What I said was that if Joe Gibbs is going to give his defensive cord. autonomy to select the players he wants, then Joe Gibbs is ultimately responsible. Plain and simple. If a CEO fails to perform, he is ultimately responsible to the shareholders. Joe Gibbs is to blame, he must be held responsible, otherwise the "head coach" title is meaningless.

By the way, when was the last time a head coach was fired in the NFL and both defensive and offensive coordinators stuck around? Never. Firing the Coach cleans house generally.

Who said that both coordinators would stick around? And does this mean that you don't want to clean house or what?

He's quoting himself, he's obviously losing it.

It is Threads like this that caused Gibbs to change a playoff team into what we have now.

No, sorry for the confusion. The other guy said it would be pointless to fire the HC and leave the coordinators. I responded by asking this question, because if you get rid of the HC you almost always clean house, unless you hire one of the coordinators as the new HC.
